The Wandering Soul...

Wow....so much has happened over the past while. I had to walk out of my last relationship...simply because I felt like I was hurting someone whom I deeply cared for. Regardless of how it may look to others...I felt that what I needed to do was to simply walk away. I deeply cared for this individual and staying in a relationship that was hurting them was the last thing that I wanted to be doing. So in an effort to help save this individual from their misery...I walked away. My heart still aches...sure....but this individuals life and well being meant more to me then sticking with something that would eventually destroy them.

This past 6-8 months has been a lot of deep thinking for me. I had to pull myself away from many whom I loved to figure things out for myself (And that is difficult because I feel like I tend to love a lot of people). I was attending the Maggie Flannigan Studio recently...until one day as I was doing one of the activities....I found myself unable to manage my own emotions. It was then that I realized I needed to step away and come back to this wonderful studio in the future (by the way if you desire to advance your acting The Maggie Flannigan Studio in NYC is one of the best locations to attend). I had some personal issues I needed to walk through first before I jump back into something that exposes me as such. I am so grateful to a group of teachers who truly cared for my well being. And regardless of my issues at that time understood my heart and soul. Thank you.

As my company Wright Way Master Classes (http://www.wrightwaymasterclasses.com) continues to grow...and we are currently expanding into 6 different genres for next year. I find myself fighting with my dream. Yes I understand that I can conquer all areas if I work my tale end off....but it is the possibility of failing that scares me. My dream to perform on Broadway (the reason I created my company in the first place...was to understand what it took) still haunts me on a daily basis. I am grateful to my friends in this business who also believe that for me and believe it is just around the corner...however, even with that support I fear the possibility.

Sidenote: I sometimes wonder due to my current situation if I should simply have someone managing my professional career...like a manager...lol (wink, wink).

I am nearing the beginning of a new chapter in my company and my life shortly...and I am excited, nervous and scared as to what that adventure holds for me. (I am typing this right now...and my stomach is turning in circles....aghhh!).

My dream and hope is to always extend myself for others....I may not always do it immediately...but I usually always get around to it. I only wish the greatest success for those I have the pleasure of running into and working with...and those I am bound to meet. Thank you to all...for your kindness and heart as I...the wandering soul...seeks to make since of the gifts I have been given.

It is December 28th at 8:43am. I am in Las Vegas, NV Airport and finding myself still waiting for my flight to take flight. We are now 2 hours behind schedule and I am gratefully in a good mood.

I do apologize for my absence on this blog. I am back and want to discuss something very beautiful to me at the moment. And that is OUR journey.

In this wonderful art of ours we have an opportunity to bless lives and give to others in so many different ways. Let us not forget that there are many aspects to the the entertainment business and it is important that many of us have more than one purpose in it.

I am a performer, a producer, a teacher and most importantly a friend so as I teach across the country and here in NYC I want all of my students and stunning artists to know that my heart is in it for them. I get it...I understand their journey...as I still find myself in mine.

This journey through finding your talent is a difficult one so it is important that you do not beat yourself up as you are traveling this crazy up and down road. I invite you to try everything at least once to find out what your taste is.

Create your opportunities as these opportunities will not always be given to you...and if an idea or opportunity that you create fails...at least you tried and continue to try.

Take risks in your auditions...as long as it is from the heart...we cannot deny you your honesty.

Thank everyone you come in contact with who has uplifted you and helped you on your way.

10 years ago I had a wonderful individual believe in me enough to inspire me to not give up and to set goals for the next 10 years of my life (I was 23 at the time). 10 years later almost every single one of those goals have come to fruition. Thank you Rich.

I invite you to surround yourself with people who can help you do that as well.

As your dreams and reality become one - I promise it is one of the most exciting moments that we are given in this life. I have had the beautiful pleasure to not only see it for myself...but see it in so many of my students as well.

Happy 4th of July America! What a beautiful and amazing country this is, a land that is multi-cultural, expansive and beautiful. I am so grateful to those whom have died so that I may live free.

In an effort to respect those whom have gone before us...it is important that we do our part. With freedoms come responsibilities from each and every one of us. May we reach out to help and extend our kindness and love to others. As we help others...we begin to understand a little more about ourselves.

YES! I have recently had the pleasure to move to one of the best places in NYC - MIDTOWN - ever since I moved to New York City in 2000 for a show I did at the Fredrick Loewe Theatre at NYU I have desired to live in such a place. I love it when my dreams and reality become one. There is something very special about what is happening to me right now in my life and I am humbled by its greatness.

My production company - Wright Way Productions - will be touring 2 shows throughout the country starting the end of this summer. This is a very exciting endeavor for myself. We shall see what happens...wish me luck!

Also, recently I had the pleasure of meeting a very special lady named Tiffany Williams...this wonderful human being is an inspiration to me.

Its scary out there I tell ya!

I am my own barrier...yes, you heard me say it...I am my own barrier. I am giving myself excuses as to why I am not performing or at that...auditioning. IYIYIYIY!!!

Can I be honest here...one year ago I began my companies...in an effort to have a day job. Non of these were ever meant to replace my passion and personal goals in my life...which is to perform on stage. Have I created a business now that states who I am as a person or am I stronger than that and can I fight against the obvious thing standing in front of my way...my own fear.

I have been so blessed in this New York community...I have been accepted by many if not most casting directors to be whom I am...and celebrate that. I have had the pleasure of auditioning for roles that scream my name - Broadway shows - that truly celebrate ME. Why am I so scared now...after taking two years away from the audition circuit...now...to get back in the fight..yikes, that scares me?

I am vocally in the best place I have been in years...and truly feel that I get how to audition..more now than I ever have before. I guess, perhaps, I am somewhat afraid now that perhaps I am to good of friends with those who make the decisions...and don't want to make a possible fool of myself....not that I would...its just the fear I guess I have. (There I said it) Now, just get out and do it.

I am going to commit myself to get back into Ballet...yeah...that is right...I am finding my roots again in dance...and hitting the bar (lets hope I don't actually hit the bar!) lol! I have never left voice training and am so grateful for that (THANK YOU JAMES AND ROXANN).

Wish me luck or break a leg on this endeavor to getting back into the audition scene...its scary out there I tell ya! :)

Grateful To Be Alive

Is it ok to say this??? I have the most amazing job, friends and family in the world!

Why have I been blessed with the life I have right now. I love how close I am becoming with those I love and adore and I am loving the confusion and drama that that brings as well. I am loving watching and observing as my friends find peace and success in their journey. I am patient with those who are patient with others and myself and furious when people are short with me (that needs to be fixed). I am happy at how the ball of possibility is ever rolling one way and then the next keeping me on my toes.

Just recently I had the wonderful opportunity to audition for Alison Franck for Peter Pan at Paper Mill Playhouse (after a year in a half at being on the other side of table and not auditioning - eeek!). My stomach was turning all day - it was turning out of anxiety and worry. Wow, how I forgot how nerve racking the audition process was. I was a mess! hahaha! The audition went well and the song choice I had prepared came off well - however - I realized how out of it I was (A personal realization) - I appreciate Alison's comment a day later during a conversation with her... "You never would have known you hadn't auditioned for a year and a half" - BLESS HER AND HER SWEET HEART (This is why I love her so).

So my goal of getting back into the game is actually happening...slowly but surely....it is happening. Trying to manage everything I want to accomplish is causing me to have no sleep...but I am happy...and I am grateful to be alive.

Understanding the past..motivates the future! (Lady Gaga)

What drives us in our lives to do things or to go places....is it a desire to find what is beyond the next corner or the next opportunity? Is it a hope to walk in a different path or to see things a little bit different than someone else saw it before? Will the path of life and the history of man always repeat itself? Such as the scriptures of old...or old music...or art in general.

During the Grammy's Sunday night I had a new found friend tell me that life will repeat itself on the Best Album of the Year category. One...that I have to be honest....was hoping Miss Lady Gaga would take home yet lost to Taylor Swift (who did deserve it). Why? Why am I so moved by Miss Lady Gaga, well, because of her social statements that she makes every time she hits the stage. Is this new or is history repeating itself? Hmmm...if you know history well...as this kind friend pointed out...you know that Madonna set this platform for her...and of Madonna's time...she was the unknown misfit creating contrevorsy much like Lady Gaga is today. I begged to differ...perhaps hoping that he was wrong and that the world had changed...and unlike when Madonna made these statements and were denied the Music Industry's awards ..I was hoping that now their would be support for an artist who stretches current boundries...however, I quickly realized that down deep...he was right. A women of the 2010 current concept of making face on social issues of our time...she has made a definite place for herself in the music industry...wowing and shocking the world. Her death scene during her PAPARAZZI song at the VMA's...screams...MADONNA's sacrifice on the cross. Similar platforms - different times.

As I have taught Master Classes across the country - I continue to be wowed by the talent. But a common thread that I find across the country is sadly not sitting with me very well...and this is how unfamiliar the NOW generation is bringing only current material or popular material to the table. If we do not understand the past or history of music...we are cutting ourselves out of opportunity and knowledge - this makes one look naive and unprofessional. Also, by understanding the past we are better artists and individuals in our craft of music. SO LEARN YOUR HISTORY...AND SING OUT YOUR HISTORY (20's, 30/40's, 50/60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and today).

Knowledge and Understanding is POWER!

So this was my facebook status - and I sort of love it!!!

Rance Wright: To be honest - I would totally do this whole DOPPLEDANGER...bleh bleh bleh thing...but I would end up trying to be funny and just posting a picture of myself...and then some people would be like..."Rance is so into himself"...which honestly wouldn't be false...So I decided to not do it. So don't judge. (lol)

No I am not totally conceited...but I do love to put on that front that I am...I sort of get a kick out of it I guess. My favorite is when people take me too seriously - make a fuss - and I apologize...and the whole time I am just sitting there laughing inside at the situation...cause I know the truth.

Why do I do that though...put on this whole persona? I guess in a small way I sort of am that person...balls all about everything. And being the over-confident person in my life helps me make strong choices with myself and my business opportunities. It also has helped in gearing me to fun performance opportunities that I would otherwise not be fortunate to get or be up for.

Deep down, however, I am sort of a softy and will do just about anything for anyone...ask my family and those who are closest to me.

Earlier today I was helping this wonderful young artists figure out what she was going to prepare for an upcoming class that I am helping to teach with 4 Broadway Casting Directors...I realized how happy it made me to be the coach per-say and reach out in assistance and guidance. I had the pleasure of auditioning everyone who is going to be taking my class and it excites me deeply to know that the talent who have been accepted are taking this opportunity as seriously as it should be taken. You never know who these talented young artists and grown artists will become...it is truly exciting to watch and learn and observe talent catch onto things and to see the light change in each one of them. I am soooo looking forward to teaching in my home state as well and to see old friends!

So as I look back and realized that I have just babbled...I am ok with the overly confident person I have become...and hope that in my efforts to find my own self...that I do not hurt anyone on the way.

Time - Low Energy - Thank You - SLC (Wright Way Master Classes)

I have books...and scripts...and resumes...and youtube.com videos to go through....I feel as if my time is so bogged down with no time to give my self. Really though...who am I kidding...buah-ha-ha. I have plenty of time to do just about everything I need to do and more...and thank heavens for that....time.

Recently I found myself boggled down with low energy....and anyone who knows me...knows me well...knows that I always run at 200 percent of what I should be running on. Always trying to accomplish the next biggest or best thing...its true...I can sort of be over the top some times...but it works for me. The low energy...I actually have been getting checked for...over the past couple of days I have scheduled appointments with doctors and such to figure out if this is just a seasonal downer or if my body is checking in on something and telling me "HEY, YOU...SOMETHINGS NOT RIGHT IN HERE". As of yet...no response...but I gather nothing is wrong...and I have got some sort of "Winter Blues" (sing me a song please!).

New York is cold...the weather actually hasn't figured it out if it should be cold or warm. This of course is not helping with how I personally am feeling - ill wise(lol) - and also a good conversational changer.

I was speaking to a confidant of mine about promises that some people offer you...and as much as I would love to believe that these people will keep their promises...I am beginning to doubt their word. Its sad really...as I have tried to offer the world to a particular individual...but for some reason in return...I am being forgotten. Its ok...but I guess some things are just too good to be true some times. And some friendships are really not close at all but rather at an arms length or further. Ah well.

I do have to say....Thank you!!!... to everyone who reached out and gave their kind thoughts and words on my behalf. I am deeply grateful and wish the best to you in return.

A blessed gift - Thank you Deyton!

Over the past couple of days I have enjoyed the opportunity to reconvene with my family during this holiday season. Of course the joys have giving and receiving are great and do have their place - however, one moment in particular comes to mind that I am extremely grateful for. Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of joining my family for a 20 minute personal gift to and from my nephew Deyton Kash Sorensen (who died at 5 days old due to heart complications in July) at his burial site in Washington, UTAH. I was asked to sing for the family that evening standing at his grave - Silent Night - and while I was singing it my family and I realized how relevant the song is to us at this time - "Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace". My whole family began to cry out of both a sadness and a happiness for where Deyton is today. A blessing and a joy to truly experience - sadly these words do not express enough the feelings that were shared amongst all during that 20 minutes time with Deyton.

Thank you Deyton for being there and for giving all of us such a wonderful and blessed gift. We love you buddy!

Getting my Doctorate!!! WTF???

So I admit it - I think I want to go back to school - WTF???????????? Yes it is true. I am currently in the hunt for a Doctoral Program that will fit the needs that I am looking for. I currently have a BFA in Music, Dance Theater and a Masters of Music in Musical Theater with a Dance Choreography Emphasis.....but I want more. (imagine the young girl speaking to her daddy in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - "But Daddy, I want more") So there you have it. I have always desired a Doctorate Degree and feel that my next venture in life - educationally speaking - is a Doctorate in Theater. (music to my ears).

Anyway - Just saying!

My question: Sitting on both sides of the audition table

So over the past 5 months I have found myself working and working and working towards a goal that I feel will never find its end. This is a new production endeavor and contract that I have been working towards. Do I feel that it will never happen - absolutely not, it will - its just that as I have been pursuing this endeavor the opportunity has gotten bigger and bigger - making it more and more tasteful and exciting for me as a business man. The saying that joy or satisfaction or peace comes to those who wait better not have been a lie because I have a lot riding on this baby. I mean...I do have to say that the company has been very kind to work out all the details with me of which I am grateful and I am quite positive that we will have a wonderful relationship as we move forth. But the waiting...eeeeekkk...it is killing me (I guess because I want it sooo bad!).

So I have been getting a lot of gruff from people who are wanting to see me back in the audition scene - dear friends of mine whom are casting directors, family (Mom) and loved ones. I recently took a small break from auditioning because I felt that I needed to reinvent myself during an economy that was starting to sink. So I did...and in that search for more work and a way to satisfy my entertainment/creative bug I found myself quite pleased with work and connections that I was making. Two years ago I never would have imagined the sort of connections I have made today - I am so happy for those new found friends and business partners. I only hope that my future continues to find the joys and thrills that I have been so blessed recently to experience.

Now, my next question I have asked myself is this...can I sit behind the table and in front of the table and find success. Well....over the next six months we will find out...as that is my next adventure in life. (So keep your eyes open). Over Christmas I am going to hire a music coach, physical trainer, and will be taking dance classes in a hopes to get my body, mind and spirit back in shape for the competition of auditioning. I have been out of the game...but as one dear friend said..."rusty, can be a nice change to see in someone".

My friends - Happy Thanksgiving - I am so happy to be alive and in this world - I pray that you are happy as well. :)

Thanksgiving in Chesapeake, VA - Finding Peace

It is Monday Night in Chesapeake, VA - I have had a beautiful day filled with work, gym and amazing food (Believe me when I say - they will not let me go hungry). The company is amazing and I am so grateful for the opportunity that I do have to be in such a wonderful location with such wonderful people. I forget what it is like to be outside of New York City and all the hustle and bustle that goes along with that quick paced life. Living in New York City can be exhausting and overwhelming yet it is also a place that forces one to grow as well as a place in which you can achieve your dreams and your passions in life - which believe me when I say I do have plenty. Escaping away from the city of fast paced madness is very nurturing and important - it is what keeps those of us living in New York City able to continue amongst that craziness we call home.

I arrived with BLUE on Sunday and believe me when I tell you that my body has just loved the escape, I have never been more grateful for a slower way of life - Thanks God for the suburbs.

Thanksgiving is upon us and there is a peace I am able to feel while I am here in VA during my visit - a peace that is overwhelmingly filled with comfort. I am surrounded by love here - love - amongst a place of nurture. There is a lot of maturity in this family - a maturity for which I am grateful to learn and be a part of...I choose to keep their struggle and joys sacred, because it is sacred and it is their own. I love them for inviting me here for Thanksgiving.

May your Thanksgiving be filled with love and wonderful memories and may you find peace in all that you do!

Professionalism and learning how to communicate correctly on the job. (A bad example)

During a pleasant 5 1/2 hour photoshoot I was at...I received a phone call from an individual whom I hired to do a job in UTAH for me - a new artists whom I have never worked with before that was referred to me by a friend. Jane Doe (to keep her name out of this) was my hair/make-up artist for the photoshoot. Jane begins the conversation by saying that she was done with the job and it went well...(so I am thinking to myself - great!!!)...then all of a sudden she decides to speak to me in a tone that is negative and belittling (as if I only own one company - and this was my first time producing this sort of event - REALLY?) and starts to exaggerate what went on ...now mind you - I am totally fine with someone speaking negative about me or trying to help me correct something about my company... but what happens next is beside me...Jane begins to speak negatively of one of my photographers (I had hired two to do the job) and began to correct me on what kind of photographers I should hire to work with me....now missy....first off, this photographer and all photographers that I have and do work with go through an intense screening process. Not only do I view their portfolios and talk to their previous clients but I also test their skill on the spot by making them take my photos - I am obviously very picky and a high maintenance DIVO and do share some of their work with Broaday Casting Directors, whom I also work with, to get feed back on the type of photographs that are desired in this industry and help talent get called in for auditions. Obviously all of my photographers are overly qualified individuals in the professional world of photography...and the words and comments that Jane Doe referenced had absolutely NO validity because Jane Doe is a makeup/artists in Utah(nothing against UTAH...but really?!? GAWD!!!)....soooo, before you begin to comment on a photographer of mine....know the facts....get more professional work yourself (other than Utah hair and a couple of jobs by mutual friends of ours - and lets be honest in Utah the hair has been known to be higher than the mountains - and growing up in Utah I know this first hand) and know what you are speaking about and actually take the time to get to know all photographers that you are working with....IT IS YOUR FREAKING JOB - YOU DON'T NEED TO LIKE THEM - JUST DO YOUR JOB THAT YOU WERE HIRED BY ME TO DO. You have ruined the chance of other UTAH talent being hired by me for make-up/hair as I have a slew of professional talent from New York who have been considered for "Shear Genius", been on VH1, MTV and Make-up artists who have done celebrity talent, Fashion week and graced many major magazine covers and articles - what have you done missy? I wish that I would have used my BEST FRIEND for this job - as I had originally hoped to do - I will use her when we are back in Utah for sure she is such an easy person to work with - obviously Jane Doe's and my relationship is caput! Thank you JANE DOE for this headache - enjoy your Christmas in Utah - oh wait, I will be there too - see you there!

So I had the joy this weekend of working with two wonderful people - Shane Maritch and Nyle Caisley - two very dear friends of mine. On Sunday we literally spent six hours taking care of me - so amazing - and trying to get as many pictures of myself for my new website(http://www.rancewright.com) which is currently being built for me. The patience that Nyle and Shane had for me was seriously amazing. And for one who owns his own photography company (http://www.thephotographytrain.com) I am a very picky with what I am looking for and how I want to be represented... and honestly was completely happy with Shane's work (http://www.shanemaritch.com) and Nyle's work (http://www.paparazziperfect.vpweb).

(As I got to the serious shots of the day it was difficult for me to present a serious more intense look in my headshots...right then I received a phone call on my blackberry that ticked me off)

Well Nyle and Shane were brilliant and could tell what had just happened to me - so Shane picks up the camera and Nyle starts shouting "Use how you are feeling now" - "Shane catch these shots" - we had been looking for a serious look all day and I can honestly say - I think we got em. I keep looking at those picture that Shane took and keep laughing - cause I was pleased!

I suggest them if you need headshots! Great to work with!

The Nashville, TN - Broadway Auditions Seminar!!! A Success!

So I have been away from this blog I like to call - my personal emotional outlet to the world - for a little over two weeks. My eyes have been opened in so many ways and I wish that I could take the experiences that I have personally had, put it in a bottle and hand it over to each of you to experience - wow - is really all that I can say.

Nashville, TN was the first of my Master Classes to go National with the help of Alison Franck, Duncan Stewart, Cindi Rush and Robin Carus - the experience was a very emotional one for me. I also had the wonderful pleasure of experiencing all of this with my co-instructor Tambi Matich...what a talent and a beauty! The success and the change that I saw in each of the students was priceless and extremely informative to all who were there. Each day a different teacher, instructor and each day lessons and important information were taught and taken in. My heart, my energy, my all went into teaching this seminar - and I am so appreciative for the outcome that was present. Thank you to everyone who was a part of the "Broadway Auditions Seminar" Wright Way Master Class in Nashville, TN. I am looking forward to Spring 2010 Broadway Auditions Seminar classes in Salt Lake City, UT - Boston, MA - Chicago, IL.

A $100,000.00 dollar decision

It is 2am in the morning on Wednesday, October 14th. I am working like I usually do beyond the necessary hours that I should. Mostly because I want to be a success. What does it take to be a success in something? Is it important that your the best at it or is it just enough that you at least tried? Who gives the ok that you are better than me or that I am better than you, is either really true? I have been asking myself and many of my students recently this question? What makes you worth a $100,000.00 dollar decision? Are you good enough? Or what can you offer that is worth that amount. When it comes down to the final individuals in any decision, am I or you worth that amount? All of us are good enough, all of us have talent, all of us at one point in our career had IT!!! So what makes you or the person standing next to you to be worth that one moment or moments of getting THAT job and being the last man standing?!?

I love my job - and I love that I get to ponder and work on these answers every day of my life. I only wish to help those around me, including myself, continue to be that $100,000.00 dollar decision.

Many people are wondering why I keep on posting information about my personal companies on my blog - shouldn't a blog be all about me and my doings. Well, to answer the question constantly asked of me....Yes a blog should be all about my doings....if you know me well then you know that my companies are a lot of who I am. I am very proud of these ideas that I have created, copyrighted, etc. to be individual and also to share with the rest of the world. In a way - I am like a proud dad who is watching his babies take their first walk into the world. It is both exciting and scary - believe me - it is scary....because my hope is to find success in this world. Understandably I don't expect miracles - although that would be nice - however, I do hope for good things.

If there is anything I have learned about this opportunity, it is the fact that there will be somethings that don't work, and perhaps they just wont work because the economy is screaming heavily against it. But it doesn't necessarily mean that it wasn't a success. In my eyes - its business and you try again later.

When I was younger I use to think that failures were huge road blocks. Now as I am getting older in life I am taking failures more as corrective criticism and steps in a right "WRIGHT" direction. This keeps me upbeat and looking forward to the next opportunity in life.

I am so grateful to the powers that be - that offer up such kindness in my direction. More often then not I feel unworthy of that greatness and humbled constantly by those who find themselves around me.

I had the pleasure this weekend to see "Little House on The Prairie" the musical at "The PaperMill Playhouse". I have to be honest - I sort of loved the experience, the music and for sure I loved the leads in the show. Thank you for taking me on a ride to the new frontier my friends. Job well done! (Thank you Alison Franck for inviting me as your guest - fun times as always! Loves!).

If New York City has taught me anything - its that you take every opportunity you are given and RUN! I love it here!

You know those makeover shows like "What Not to Wear?", "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style", and "How do I Look?"

I know many actors are often confused about how to dress for auditions, and have been told so many conflicting things over the years.

I opened the pages of one of the very best audition books out there...AUDITION by Michael Shurtleff. The question is "what do i wear to my audition?" His answer is an all too brief, "wear what is appropriate"...and while he is correct, the assumption that actors actually understand what that means lies the problem.

Years behind the table have proven one thing to me, many people do not understand what is appropriate, and better yet...what will make an actor look marketable, appealing and somewhat fashion forward.

The thing is, everyone can use a little makeover from time to time. What worked for you a few years ago, may not be working now. A fresh new look will not only lift your spirits and make you feel GREAT when you walk into the room, it will also make people stand up and take notice.

In this 3 week seminar, my goal is to work with a stylist, a hair stylist and a make-up artist, to help create the best version of you.

NO, I will not be making people cut off all of their hair, or go out and buy a new wardrobe(unless you are up for it)....I will be working with people based on type, age ranges, personality, and vocal types....

This is about making everyone comfortable in their own skin and helping separate you from everyone else. To stand out from the crowd in the most workable, honest, and delightful way.

My goal is to open up the career possibilities you may have been missing due to how you are presenting yourself in auditions. Not only by what you sing and how you approach your material, but also, by how you dress and put yourself together.

Week one....establishing the overall essence, package and how you want to present yourself. This is when the performers will sing audition material and/or do monologues. We will individually break down what it is you are presenting to the world in type and how we can best market what it is you essentially "ARE"...

Week two Based on what we discussed the first week.. this is the makeover day...meeting with the stylist, the make-up artist and the hairdresser to discuss the best options for you. ON this day we will asking everyone to bring several wardrobe pieces that we think will work for them from their own closest.... as well as some pieces they wouldn't think to bring....

Week three..the final reveals and additional discussions....

One year in the blogging world!!! - CRAFT STEAK - September 11th

OMG - I am about done with one of my biggest goals this year for me - and let me tell you - I FEEL PRETTY AMAZING. Now, I would tell you what that goal is, but I don't want to jinx the possibilities so you all have to wait. However, it is pulling at me to just tell you....but alas I cannot say a word. lol.

So last night Michael Freeman and myself went to CRAFT STEAK on 15th street and 10th Avenue. One of the coolest things about this restaurant is they have two different areas to sit. I personally like to call it the Rich Mans section and the Cheap Mans section. And as much as I like to eat out it is important that I am not always eating in the Rich Mans section (as we are in a depression - ya'll) - So Michael and I sat in the Cheap Mans section (upfront). And like always I LOVED IT, seriously, I love eating there because I feel like I am eating at TOP CHEF or something similar - the food, even the appetizers are that good...plus the company I was with wasn't half bad either. So if you haven't ventured over to that area of NYC (which is right near the new HIGHLINE (also a sight to see)) then I highly recommend it.

One year ago today, or at least around this time of year, I began writing on this blog and I have to tell you what - life has gotten better and better. I am not going to say that it is the blog that has answered all my questions or offered doorways to better things, however, for some reason it has offered me my own way of healing. And that is important to me.

Eight years ago on this date I was in Las Vegas, NV and was awoken to the fear of our reality that is September 11, 2001. I was confused - blindsighted - hurt - fearful - scared and it was everything I never imagined possible was possible and did happen. The memories still haunt me to remember and I believe will continue to haunt everyone who is reminded of where they were at when they heard the news.

"Never let them see you sweat"

So recently I have been questioning a lot of my motives for doing things - and asking myself why. I believe that this economy is beginning to get at me in much crazier ways than I actually thought were possible. I am loving my life right now - however, trying to grasp a hold of every opportunity passing me right now - is starting to get a little overwhelming - and at times seeming a little to much. So what do I do, push forward and just let things roll on by or breathe and perhaps allow others to grasp a hold of the opportunity with me and still allow things to roll on by because of possible complications with those people - perhaps no complications at all - I dont know.

Lately I have been feeling the weight of other peoples needs for work and money and their struggle of not finding relief is begining to pulling me down and eat at me. My desire and willingness to help other people is so very important to me - and it begins to become a damper or overall pain when I feel like the responsibility fully lies in my hands - not that I am not capable of helping - but I do not need the weight of those around me to dampen my passions and excitement for life by giving me worries or doubts in the world or the economy....eeeek!

My mother always said "Never let them see you sweat" - because it shows a lack of personal strength.

In this world it is important that we are strong people individually - strong enough in showing value to who we are - people who do not nag or show a need for work will survive in the end. In the theater world - more specifically - we are taught to never show in the audition room the NEED or overall want for that particular job, for it seems TOO DESPERATE. Lately, I am starting to observe this reality and the truth that it holds. I feel the weight on myself and amongst those around me - I love them (my friends) - and hopefully soon it will be less of a NO from me and more a reality of YES to be able to help - I need support and not fear in the future ahead.

I guess this is more an awareness post today - for whom - who knows.

I have had the pleasure over the past three weeks to view some of the most amazing talent across this country - talent that is raw and looking to be nurtured. I am awww inspired by this drive to succeed and this drive and positive energy that finds itself around me. I hope it has something to do with me - honestly though, I feel it is the drive of "The Artist". I have learned soooo much on this trip across the country - about my own craft. I have become humbled in this experience and hope that those who auditioned for me learned as much as I did from them.

I am so grateful to GOD for the experience to love what I do - the experience to wake up every morning knowing that I love my job - and love that I get to work with some of the coolest people in the world (That goes for all the professional artists, soon to be professional artists and unfound talent).

So many things are coming down the pipe-line that I am excited about - so expect to hear some great things soon!

Deyton - Love - St. George - Blessings

Over the past two weeks I have gone through numerous emotions - emotions of joy and emotions of sadness. Ultimately asking myself questions that I never thought I would have to ask myself before. I cried out of anger and I cried simply just to cry. I felt needy and I felt giving and yet nothing and everything seemed to help or leave me at bay. I wanted to be held and I also wanted to not be touched at all. I felt like I had done everything correct and yet felt like I had done nothing right at all. What to do, what to do, what to dooooooooooooooooooooo.

My nephew - Deyton Kash Sorenson - lived 5 days long. Five glorious, stressful, exciting, sad, spiritual, void, filled with emotion, nothing left to give, blessing bountiful days. These days I sadly only got to participate in via pictures and testimonials, these days I only dream I could have been more a part of.

I had the blessing of arriving to Saint George, Utah - on the night prior to my nephew Deyton's funeral - I humbly was asked to sing for my nephews funeral, a song that I honestly LOVE, called FACE TO FACE. In rehearsal the morning of the funeral I was a WRECK, trying to sing a song about seeing God's face and the face of those we loved who we have lost again. A song of recognition that there is life after death. I would open my mouth and begin SOBBING uncontrollably - thinking of my Sister, Brother-in-law and nephew and just wishing things had been different or at least wishing that I had the blessing of seeing him and meeting him when he was here. I was a mess. Yet, as the time came for me to sing the song for my nephew and family - I was oddly blessed with something greater than I and gained not only the strength but yet the courage to sing this song on behalf of my nephew. A power - I cannot explain or try to express in words - a power or spiritual opportunity offered to me - for the benefit of those that would hear. I love god - I love the spirit and I am forever grateful for the opportunities and chances that I am given to be blessed with these experiences. BECAUSE IT WAS NOT MY OWN STRENGTH THAT HELD IT TOGETHER. It was beautiful to behold.

I am so proud to be a Wright and associated to my family tree - they are amazing people with the strength and will to survive - The death of my nephew was hard - but I am a better or more spiritual person due to this experience. And I give credit to that acknowledgement to God and with the help of little Deyton.

To all who have been a part of my life and continue to be a part of my life - My Family, Michael F., Sarah B., Nyle C., Alison F., and all the rest of my friends. Thank you!

My nephew - Deyton Kash Sorenson - passed away this morning at 11:10am - a soldier of a man, fighting for the strength to survive. I look up to the little GIANT that he is and will always look to him as an example of pure strength. Waking up at 9:00am is not so bad - lets be honest, life isn't so bad right now.

Recently I have had the opportunity to re-find myself and my talents in all levels. I have had the blessing of finding friendship, finding god and abilities I never believed I had. A positive opportunity is taking what you are given and running with it. If we don't run the right direction we will only ever fall backwards. I have learned this best.

I am grateful for second chances in life - boy am I ever. Understanding that everyone is sitting on the side of that second chance hoping that you do right. And by everyone - I mean everyone.

Surrounding yourself with wonderful people - surrounding yourself with wonderful thoughts - surrounding yourself with wonderful music......now that is the the life.

I am sitting at Starbucks on 9th and 14th and I ask myself - when did life get so good? hmmm.

I am blessed in so many ways - an amazing relationship - amazing friends - an amazing job - amazing opportunities - great new business opportunities. For all of this I am grateful to those above the sky. My appreciation of life and the things that I have been given are without a doubt constantly shown through my smile that I freely give to those around me. My goal in life is to offer and help those who are around me - by opening up opportunities to those who might not otherwise have them. I have always believed that about myself - and am forever grateful that now I can begin to do that.

Michael - thank you for everything - the job opportunities and the continuous closeness.

Dad and Mom - for never letting go of your continued love and support even and most importantly when it is difficult or hard to understand me.

Life is truly exhausting, JUST BREATHE

Wow, I sometimes forget how relaxing an awe inspiring it is to take a little time for myself and just breathe.

That is the one thing I have come to realize about me - is that I dont offer myself much breathing time. I love to just watch the water rise in a tub...or view the sun move over the sky...or listen to the water in the hudson (the dirty hudson) flow by. You sort of don't realize the simple relaxation of the city of New York - because this city is always moving. Its an island and water is continually flowing around it and people are continually flowing within it. So much activity for such a small small part of our country and more importantly of our world. This little concrete jungle has so much history within a mile radius - it is truly astounding.

I love it here - it exhausts me - believe me - I get exhausted. But to be honest - I would wish it no other way. I am happy when I am exhausted - I am happy when I am continually flowing. I love it.

I just love crazy people. I mean...perhaps I shouldn't reference crazy...but, wow, that is all that is coming to my head at the moment - CRAZY PEOPLE.

So I had a rehearsal today in Harlem - it lasted way to long and clearly was not organized and had to reference of time. I was reacting no different than most in that room, other than the fact that my voice is clearly the loudest and most prominent - I got that beautiful talent from my mother (love you mom). Someone who doesn't really pursue this career (Musical Theatre) tries to tell all of us in a (I am more religious than you) sort of tone that we should focus because we are wasting time. WHAT!?! Are you kidding me!!! HAHAHA! Did I hear what I just thought I heard...YES I DID! Some people really have the nerve....seriously.....pre-assume that any of us are to blame. I rolled my eyes - and just about flipped a lid (if you couldn't tell my lid sometimes can be a little short). The worst part of all this - is about 45 minutes later she snapped at me during the choreography - which then pissed me off. So a couple of things that went wrong 1. There were to many chiefs in the rehearsal. 2. You have performers that have no idea what they are doing trying to tell you stupid out of place comments. 3. The rehearsal in the end was a waste of time and could have been managed better. 4. There is no through line for the whole showcase. 5. We have a bunch of UTAH MORMONS - referencing a word that should sound like "hour - without the h", like "R"....it just sounds immature and completely unprofessional. OY! We will never get any better if we do not pay attention to the most important details of diction and vowels and acting and character development - but I guess we arent trying to succeed in that area - now are we.

I just had to get that off my chest - because clearly I am so beside myself with this situation - I was going to invite some important influential people to this event...but am now completely second guessing this idea - SERIOUSLY!

Life is so great right now - somewhat perfect I might say. I realized recently that I am spending less time checking in and writing here - which honestly shocks me because I love writing and sharing my opinions. When I am happy - I don't have much to complain about - and right now I am happy. Just saying!

I have so many things to be grateful for...I am working...that is one thing. And two I have had the opportunity to create some companies of which I am very proud of. It is difficult to focus my thoughts and ideas on anything else - other than business - but I guess that is where life is taking me.

I also have begun to take voice again - and am focusing on preparing my self for my first Broadway job. I have to believe that my time is near - it just feels like life is opening a door, and it would be stupid of me not to open that door and walk right in. I am friends with some of the most amazing people and yes they desire to see me succeed as much as I do myself.

I am waiting to hear from a project in support of the New York Aids Coalition - I am hoping to help with a couple of fundraising ideas so that I can work on building my soul by giving of my time and of myself for a purpose that I so strongly believe in. I hope that many people will feel that same urge and reach out to help.

Anyway - my job at IBM is also going very well - which reminds me - I need to get to bed! I will talk with you later! Take care!

IBM!!! - Grace or Fear?!? - Loving Life

So I have been working this job for IBM for the past couple of days...I cant really go into the details of it all...but what I can say is that I am soooo extremely grateful for the opportunity and chance to help and expand my horizons. The experience truly does motivate me - and opens up a part of my brain that I honestly don't use all the time. Its great. Not only do I have such an amazing job but I also have an amazing boss and a great group of people that I get to work with. The diversity within the job...is so brilliant...you can only admire the mind and talent of the one who hired us...we shall call him "The One". (I honestly don't know where that came from - hahaha).

So everyone is well aware of my situation during the end of March - with the two roomies. I would like to confirm that everything has been resolved. And was resolved with great grace. However, throughout this experience I can honestly say that one of the two roomies, in my eyes, gained some respect and the other one lost some respect. Thats all I really want to say about that. We can choose to handle things in our lives with GRACE or with FEAR - sadly FEAR also creates hypocrites and is one of the main motivators for a closed minded society, community and individual.

Love is so great right now - Life and the experiences that are being offered in Life are so great right now.

I hope life is rewarding you and your loved ones during this difficult time.

First Day at a 9-5 job - April 1st

So it is APRIL 1st - and I begin my big job today. I was thinking to myself...what if I got there and the company who hired me is like...Joking...you don't really have a job...April Fools day. THAT WOULD NOT BE FUNNY AT ALL...just saying.

I have to work out and get ready for my day...I will comment later about the job...and about my experience. SO FUN!

Me Me Me Me Me....Ya know....They may not like me for saying it....but I have to look at myself everyday...so I might as well like what I am looking at. Right? lol!

So recently I had an argument with my roommates over a stupid mistake in my life. A mistake which sadly has caused them some harm and discumfort. I as a sane human being am trying to resolve things...keep a smart mind about myself. It is sad that some people take emotions and personal issues in my life (which really have no value outside of conversation and simply knowing) and try to throw my personal life back in my face. One of these friends(roommates) bawks on how they are giving to the world and giving to forgiveness of those who are less fortunate - however when placing value on forgiving a friend...or someone they live with, that belief system is thrown out the door. And another friend (roommate) whom I have allowed he let his partner live in my apartment - the apartment that I hold a lease to - says to my face that I am forgiven and that we are friends, and then teams up with this other person and creates some sort of negative feelings against me. I WILL STATE THIS ONCE - AND ONCE ONLY - I CAN DO WITH OR WITHOUT YOU IN MY LIFE...I HAVE TRIED TO MAKE THIS BETTER AND RESOLVE ALL SITUATIONS...BE IMMATURE AND PLAY THIS GAME OF UNFORGIVENESS AND WATCH ME PUSH - AND I WILL PUSH.

Anyway... there are beauties of this life...one of them who is Sarah Byrne. While I was taking care of Michael Freeman in the Hospital and his dear dog MADDY...I found out who my true friends were. Sarah - who is a chaplain for NYU medical - and my personal bestest friend EVER - came and spoke to Mike and me while we were there. I wish her all the best in life...it is amazing how her and I have been through so much...and how we continue to stay close. Knowing someones true heart can give you greater value in life. Placing value on the here and now and not forgiving will continue to damage you in the future.

Two things I have learned during my hard times in my life...and a wise man from my Graduate Program said to me...1. Never allow the little things in life to harm you, because placing value on the little things creates big messes. 2. Never allow money to stop you from achieving your dreams. Take it or leave it...I love those comments.

Anyway...I have a lot of fire burning inside my emotions today..because I had people whom I thought valued or loved me...threaten me over email. Really...are we still so young and can't grow up?!?

Wishing everyone who reads this a wonderful day...and a reminder that life is full of mistakes, challenges and heartaches. Forgiveness of ourselves and others is possibly the biggest challenge we will learn.

March 25th - Working for IBM - Working on companies

Life is so busy these days....it is so busy that I am not even allowing myself a moment to just sit back, relax and figure things. There are so many exciting new things to talk about...there is also a realization that I am not as cool or trustworthy as I thought I once was. That latter realization more dissapointing than I would like to admit.

First things first...on April 1, 2009 I will begin to work for IBM...an opportunity that I am both overwhelmed and yet extactic about. I will be a trainer for this amazing company and helping the people of NYC understand a new system to help them move forward during this computer age. I love to teach and to help...and feel that this is a blessing during this tragic time of our economy.

I also have been working on Wright Way Master Classes - The Photography Train - The Wright Way Productions, all companies that are moving forward in a more powerful and exciting way. I cannot wait for things to come to fruition...it will be a way for talented and influential people to make a difference and see change. I am finding success by trying to make a difference and seeking to help.

Over the past eight months I have found myself making a couple of mistakes that have hurt those whom are closest to me. It saddens me that I have made such mistakes...I ask for their forgiveness. I seek to be better and seek to make a difference and hope to regain my friendship with them. I love you guys.

I hope that this finds everyone well.

Amazing Support - So Much good - Emotional

I am overwhelmed by the amazing support that is being given to me in regards to the New York Aids Coalitions need for money. People it is ever so true and ever so needed....thank you for taking the time and for helping to make a difference. Thank you.

My life recently has been filled with so much good - so many amazing things have crossed my path. Wonderful Friends, Wonderful Family and Wonderful Relationships. People who are all looking out for me, people who want to see great things in my life and people who know how to say just the right thing.

So this last week was very busy for me...to say the least. And by the weekend I had gotten only fourteen hours of sleep in 4 days. I had done a successful job up in everything I did that weekend - The Photography Train was a success and my performance in Stamford Towncenter was a success (which by the way I am now being robbed of $1850.00 from Michael Davids or Michael Demos, whatever he now chooses to call himself). Due to all of the stress it left me drained and boy did I get emotional....I had asked someone very close to me to get some throat lasanges (not sure if I spelled that right)...and when I found out that they hadn't done it...I started to cry uncontrollably. People this was not some wimper...this was a right out tears dropping like a waterfall from my eyes - aka: crazy. I cried for nearly an hour...I cried even when I was laughing out loud - OUT OF CONTROL CHAOS. Yeah, really cool Rance...really cool! hahaha! YEAH...EMOTIONAL ME!

Anyway, thank heavens they didn't go running....lol!

I have also gained a new found love for a French Bulldog named Madeline - yeah - dogs love me...and I love dogs. Every night if I am around she will lay on me to go to bed or at least lay on me till I need to go to bed. However, when I try to move her...she is not easy to shift...and will roll her eyes over at you as if to say "HOW DARE YOU SHIFT ME AWAY FROM YOUR WARM CROTCH"...just saying!

Anyway...I am tired...and I feel it important that I head to bed. But as I say goodbye to you tonight...I am going to leave you with one of my favorite Whistlers of the 80's and 90's - Mrs. Mariah Carey herself!

New York Aids Coalition, NEEDS FINANCIAL HELP! - The Sunset Cruise For Change - "We Must Be The Change We Wish To See In the World"

Dear Friend,

I am changing my tone today as I feel it necessary that I do so. My dear friends at the New York Aids Coalition are currently volunteering their time and have not been paid for over 6 weeks. As of March 31st it is possible that the company will be disolved completely...this cannot happen.

NYC has over 1/4 of all the HIV/AIDS cases in the country...so it is necessary that lobbying in the government and preventative care in NYC/NY state are financed programs that continue to thrive. Without the New York Aids Coalition we could lose a majority of the money that takes care of those and helps those living with HIV/AIDS today.

My friends...this is not an enjoyable time of our country...however, I will not sit by and watch people suffer. We need ways to build our soul...and there is no better way to build that than to know that you are helping a much needed cause. So this is one of many efforts that I will do to help this company thrive.

Simply just donating to any company that refrences HIV/AIDS, does not mean that the money will go to helping the New York Aids Coalition out - They need our immediate help.

Dealing with people who dont know you - Running Businesses...its a life.

So it is 3:51am on a Wednesday morning...and I am not sleepy. Let me explain.

One...I am a very direct person in general. I say it how it is...and not often with any sort of sensor. I will be honest...I kind of like that about myself...that I can be honest, direct and have absolutely no tact in the process....hahaha - kidding of course. While expressing with an individual - a potential male headshot photographer from Utah that I have been looking at recently to bring on board a company of mine - I expressed to him my overall headache and frustration with dealing with people who try to steal an idea or creative nature...and I potentially threw out the phrase "liable in a court of law". They expressed in return to me that I was trying to threaten them.

I sat there for a moment...laughed...perhaps giggled a little...then was taken a back...and thought - REALLY?!? Does this person know me at all. (And the answer to that is OBVIOUSLY NOT!). I have worked my hardest and paid out of my (*!&%&$*) to have this company and idea patented and copyrighted...plus pay lawyers to watch over the company and make sure NO one is trying to steal my idea (I mean the country is in a bad place...but that doesnt mean we have to be untalented and uncreative artists and steal someone elses ideas or talents). And since I don't really trust the world from not stealing my idea...I backed myself up. MUAH-HA-HA-HA!

Anyway...I patiently replied...and with a little sensor this time..and expressed myself in a very real and yet caring terms...I simply expressed that I will not be taken for a fool. You can never take class...never have really any experience...pick up a camera and start taking pictures...and assume that you know what you are talking about (I mean most of us assume anyway). However, take me as a fool...you will not.

That being said...I do hope that I have the opportunity to work at somepoint with this person and am able to bring him on board...and that things do clear up between us. I think it is for the betterment of everyone really.

Needed to get that off my chest. Felt it important.

Two...I am currently casting two shows - just finished one. Running my company - "The Photography Train". Am working on Master Classes for Artists in the NYC area called "The Wright Way Master Classes" (which by the way if you are an artists and are on facebook you can look at up under Groups and become a member). And just recently applied to work for IBM for 3 months. You could say I am a little busy. My agent and all my casting agent friends whom I have spoken to...just laughed and said...eh...its Rance...he has a plan, he usually does!

Anyway...I will be all across the country in March...wish me luck! :)

Krystal...argghh! - Life is great - Working Hard

So I recently found out the my youngest sister(Krystal)...and her hubby came all the way out to New York State...and didnt even care to let me know that they had decided to go with a different plan and not come to NYC...or even better yet...didnt even try to make plans to have me come up and visit with them. I mean I haven't seen them since I was in Hawaii...which was before my birthday, Christmas, Thanksgiving or the New Years...but I guess it doesnt matter much to them. Just Saying. Its Cool. You win some and you lose some. I mean....if I was that close to my siblings...I would take the effort to reach out to them and let them know...one way or the other...and not have them sitting on edge wondering what is going on.

Anyway...life is really great right now...I have wonderful roommates...wonderful friends...wonderful new interests...and wqkrafdaz0g9ydat42q6thyqataw (wouldn't you like to know what that said...hahaha). Anyway...I am loving life...and life is loving me.

I am working so hard right now...setting up my business in 5 major cities across the country. I am also working on Master Classes with some of the most amazing people in the performing business. Casting Agents, Agents, Broadway Choreographers, etc. Its all really exciting I must say. And it is wonderful that it is all coming together the way that I need it to come together. Pretty soon I will need an assistant...And I am not sure I am ready for an assistant..hahaha! So I must slave all the work by myself.

I wish to be closer to my family...I love them...It is difficult that I have had to already miss out on some of the most important holidays of the year and births as well. I will try and not do that again.

My life as a Wicked Disney Character

Rehearsing...singing...tapping the rhythms...getting emotionally involved in your music...wow...that is a lot of stuff to focus on...especially if you self proclaim that you are A.D.D. (which I obviously do.)

La di da di da....di...ugh...off the rhythm again. La di da di freaking da...oy...I will come back to this later. Help Me Jose! hahaha!

So yeah...I am up for a wicked guy in a Disney Production...finally a company that realizes the true person that I am. hahaha. Muah-ha-ha! I am curious though...why is the music so chipper and uplifting....at least my part of it is....I hope the underscoring is dark and mysterious...otherwise I will consider myself auditioning for the role of the princess...Just saying. Perhaps they see in me my true self...my evil self that just hasn't come out yet...ya know...it could happen...that I become some major wizard who has evil powers here on earth...I mean...at least my nephews and nieces would totally love it.

Yeah...don't have much to say..just had to share my thoughts of rehearsing on a Saturday afternoon...WHAT? Really? hahaha...Just Saying!

Issues...Argghhh! - Blabbing.

It is Wednesday...I am falling behind on so many things....my promises to myself most of all which suck more than I want to admit. I am still dealing with this issue with Mike Davids of Special Productions...or whatever company he likes to admit that he is associated with. I have spoken to my Lawyers...and rather than waiting on his terms we are moving forward with the courtcase...which I honestly would rather not do...but when someone keeps on delaying everything for their own gain...its wrong. And I agree. So that drama continues to move forward.

I find myself attaching to people...giving my all...only to realize they cannot commit to their own word(I am not innocent with that either in the past).

Also...One thing that really make me laugh (in sarcasm) is when someone I know and love expresses to me what I need to change...and yet in their own life dont have the strength and ability to make change in themselves. If your going to be one who offers advice...than you better be that person that I can look at for change...or forget it. Just Saying.

Does love actually exist in this world? If it does...isnt love an expression focused on someone else and not yourself? Maybe I am so consumed with myself at this moment in my life that love is farfetched for me. Who knows.

In an economy like this...can I afford to be a Play'ya?!?

In this economy...I question how beneficial it is for me to continue playing the game of " THE PLAY'YA"...you read it right...how in this time can I possibly be playing people and there emotions to benefit my own pleasures.

Over the past 8 months of my life...I have been very focused on myself and in a way licking wounds that have continued to damp'n my desires and my will as a person. Licking wounds and desiring to take care of me...me...me. I am so over taking care of me...because I end up simply just basking in my own problems and my own issues...and believe me there are plenty there.

With a new President of our country - Barack Hussein Obama - I have found myself intrigued with trying to make a better me. And being a better me...is focusing somewhat less on myself...and more on building those who surround me. By giving of ourselves....and building others...we build ourselves...eh...I guess that somewhat makes me selfish...and again a Play'ya ...right?!?

When does thinking of what is best for someone else ever cross my mind? Does it ever? Do I really think about them...or do I focus only on myself and my desires and my wishes.

To the old me...Walk away(or "To the Left" as Beyonce would say)...To the new me...(The Play'ya...or the Play'ya advanced)..."WHA...WHA"!

Still Sick - Miracle on the Hudson - MILK (movie) -

So I am still sick...ugh....sick of being sick...and lounging around my apartment. It sort of sucks...because I can feel my thighs getting bigger...hahaha..kidding. I actually feel like I am losing weight to be honest and not so sure how I feel about that.

So I just recently got a video and audio recorder....a friend ended up giving me theres....and because they didnt know how to use theirs...I got it. YIPPEE...So now I have it set up in my room...to begin recording random blogs...yeah I said it...random blogs that I can just talk into...and hopefully have video blogs rather than written blogs. I think it would be fun every once in a while to have a real person - aka: ME...giving you the run down of events and things that have been happening....cool right?

So the Miracle on the Hudson...aka: Outside my door. It has done a lot for our community and our pride as New Yorkers. What an event...so much can be questioned or supported about this event...but none of can truly say what should have happened or should not have happened within that 8 minute period of time...we were not there. I commend these people for making a decision that in the end...was a wise decision. And for that...they should recognized. Each day we have choices given to us to make decisions...how often do we make the decision that is just or correct. In my life I have seen myself make so many choices on both sides of the fence...in that distinct moment...would I have made a RIGHT decision. I dont know....I hope I would make the right choice...but I can't honestly say that I would have.

Tonight...the eve before Barack Obama becomes President of our country - THE USA. I had the pleasure of seeing the movie MILK with my fabulous rommate BROOKE (seen in picture above). wwwwwwwwwwwwwoooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww!!! That is really all that I can say at this moment...is WOW. A movie...or better yet...an experience that I am forever grateful for experiencing. This was a movie that I both laughed and cried at...and then within the same moment I questioned myself and my worth. Would I...like Harvey Milk...be able to stand up for something I so strongly believed in...and take a step forward in hopes to bring a more peaceful world for all. The freedom to love...the freedom to laugh...the freedom to be. Am I worthy of all that? If you haven't seen the movie...please...please...take the time to watch the marvelous Sean Penn take on a character that he does so superbly...and go with an open heart to simply just understand. Wow...Sean Penn...Thank you for taking me on a ride...of which I am still in awe. Thank you.

Sick - US AIRWAY Crash in Hudson river - New York City

I am sick...yeah...totally down and out...coughing and sniffling like crazy...it sucks...but eh, it happens each year just about the same time.

Earlier today around 3:00pm there was an airplane - US Airway - that went down into the Hudson River just outside my apartment (ok maybe down the street a bit). I was told..since I didn't see it myself...that the left wing of the airplane went right over the apartments next to mine...so pretty crazy. I was sleeping away my sickness...so until my mother...who works for SkyWest Airlines...text me about the experience, I had absolutely NO idea that any such incident had happened. Crazy, I know. Honestly, I could have never turned on the TV and if I didnt receive information from my mother...who lives in St. George, Utah...I may never have known.

This city(New York City) is crazy like that...there is so much diversity...and so much different within a four block radius...you can live within this city...and never know what is happening without the news. Its both the thing makes this city great...and makes this city a little scary. Some people live a life...alone...and know one ever fins out...or realizes there unhappiness...until they are already gone.

I have to give a shout out to my roomie - Brooke - who made dinner for me today...to cute!

China?!?

Wow...I have so many things going through my head right now...if you could walk around in my head and thoughts....you may get a headache...as I have now.

China may be my new residence as of February 10th...it hasn't been confirmed yet...but the thought of moving to China and teaching dance...is pretty exciting. I love to teach dance...I love expressing myself through dance. And to teach students something that I already love...excites me. It is one of my greatest hopes and desires in life..to leave this earth by giving something of myself. To teach and to impress the importance of understanding our body...and the way that it moves.

Would taking this job in China be a smart choice right now in my career here in NYC? Would getting away....help break me of so many patterns that I have gotten myself into..both bad and good?

What are your thoughts...should I take the job? Getting your input would be wonderful.

Life is - A LEO - "Doubt" and Eli

Life....is what we make of it....it truly is...I can either sit on my butt and do nothing each and every day of my life (which I do not do). Or I can head out to the world and try to make a difference. It is 2009...and as such I am going to head out into the world...and make a difference of good.

I am a LEO...I am a LEO through and through. So much of what you hear about Leo's ... I fit to a T. The center of attention of thing... oy...sadly is a part of my life...not that I need that attention ... but I dont mind it. lol. I try my hardest to be made aware of it...and to make sure that the attention is spread eveningly amongst those who deserve it.

Last night I had the pleasure of seeing the movie "Doubt" with a dear friend of mine...Eli. Eli and I have a friendship which extends beyond normal friends you could say. I have a feeling that Eli will be a part of my life no matter the time or the place. He is truly a friend whom I consider very close to my heart...and someone whom I love and respect as a friend. If you haven't seen the magnificent Meryl Streep in Doubt....you must take the time to watch her brilliance. I couldn't say enough...afterwards...we ran (because it was cold) through Chelsea...to find a place to sit down and talk about what we had just seen.

Anyway....life is good...I am happy...Thank god for 2009. :)

Remembering 2008 - Moving Forward in 2009

Happy New Years Everyone (from NEW YORK CITY)....

Over this past year...2008...I have had the time to ponder quite a bit. To ponder things like why me? Why now? And for some odd reason I also questioned things such as How could I? This is so not me? All of these items participating in what I would have to say was one of the most enlighting years of my life. Never have I felt so less of myself and so humbled by life experiences than I did over this past year. If there is a year that I could choose to forget....I hate to say it....but it would have to be 2008. Mainly because I found myself in such a destroying relationship...and because of this relationship I found myself in scenerio's that I have never found myself in before. There were many beautiful things about 2008...such as my call-backs for Jersey Boys and Spamalot (thank you Tara Rubin Casting)...my vacation with my family in Hawaii....my brother Ryan's and Sister in Law's Mandy's visit in September....my mothers visit in October...and the wonderful holidays spent with my New York City family...the Gilmores. Besides that....eh, 2008 was ok...like I said...I would rather forget the bad of 2008...and move onto what the potential of 2009 has to offer.

My New Year celebration was spent with my Bestest Friend in the whole wide world....SARAH BYRNE...and let me tell you something...it doesnt matter how long I haven't seen that amazing women....we always have a great time. We joined the Gilmores(also some of my amazingfriends) up in Harlem (neighbors of mine of course) and shared in the festivities with them. I love Mormon holidays....their is such an innocence to the way that Mormon's get down and dirty on New Years. I love every moment of it.

(A year ago...I didnt h ave the pleasure of celebrating my new years....I spent it arguing/frustrated with some *%&%*($(%*(^%&%* of a person...oddly I don't remember this persons name...or rather I try not to remember their name....Thank GOD a year has passed...and that I was able to celebrate in great company the new year...perhaps there is something to be said about how the luck of your year begins on the the New Years Eve...last year mine sucked....as did the following year. This years NEW YEARS EVE rocked....hmm...I can only guess what my new year has to offer...hahaha. (Knock on wood)).

I love my family...I love my friends....I love my amazing roomies (I mean that you guys...you two seriously make me laugh/cry..and make me happy)...I am grateful for the wonderful people in my life...who reach out in an effort to help and build me up...I hope in some way I am able to return that favor. Thank you!

I love the holidays....I love my family. I oddly enough haven't spoken to my family yet today...I have sent text messages like crazy...but haven't spoken to them...that will happen momentarily.

And yes I have not been speaking for over 5 hours...I actually spoke to my MOM for a hot 30 minutes and then found myself accompaning an old boss of mine...Mike Davids to a Christmas Dinner to go over some things that we needed to resolve. It was amazing how a business dinner could turn out to be such a delight. But this one was just that.

I am grateful to my parents for teaching me an understanding of love and compassion towards others regardless of the state that you find yourself in. Whether they have done something bad to you or not...there should always be a place of forgiveness for that particular individual...mainly because we dont know the trouble that they found themselves in. Mike does try...he doesn't always do things perfect...but in the end..he really does try to have a good heart and mind about everything...and that is one of the main reasons that I have stayed friends with him...regardless of what he may have done to me in the past.

I want everyone to know that the Potluck was a wonderful success and I am so thankful to everyone that was a part in it. It really came down to good friends...great food...and an all around successful event. Not everyone was able to show up...but that was ok for me. Thank you on this Christmas day for being a part of my life...I am so grateful for your friendship and kindness.

Again..it is now so late in the morning..and I am not even sure if this makes any since...however...I am happy...and grateful that the day has turned out so great.

NYC Christmas Potluck Dinner (is ready!) - Dinner with Jose - Merry Christmas from NYC

So I totally haven't even fallen asleep yet...I wonder why...I totally stayed in bed till like 2pm today...oy! Not cool! Eh, its the holidays...what can I say? Right?

So I just sent out my invites for the potluck dinner on Christmas day...and I am really excited about it (By the way if you haven't gotten an invite...just assume that you are welcome and ask me for details..and I will get them to you...and what you have to bring!) There will be a lot of friends and close personal friends that will be there and some I have never met...so it should be a lot of fun. I haven't yet got a YES from my roommate if he will be joining us...but I am sure he is well aware that he is more than welcome to join in on the festivities...I mean this is his place...and he is a lot of fun anyway. (Steve...sorry to hear about the flight....that sucks...but hey...your here in the city...and that is cool for me..hahaha).

I cooked dinner this evening and had the wonderful suprise of my not to distant neighbor - Jose S. joining me for the meal. The Chicken was a little dry this time...but other than that the meal and the company...including the movie were quite a delight. Again...there are friends...and then there are FRIENDS...Thank you Jose for being such a wonderful friend.

I have to get to sleep...my next two days are filled with lots of work...and so I must get to bed..so I can go and work out tomorrow..and be ready for that funfilled excitement. Yeah...I am working on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after Christmas...oh the joys of responsibility.

Restless - Santa Claus is Me - Christmas Brunch (dinner?)

Oh great...it is 2:45am in the morning and guess who is up...yes peeps...I have done it again...I find myself going to bed at 11pm, It gets all warm and nice in bed...and wouldn't you know it...I find myself wide awake around 230am. lol. This has to be some horrible joke that my body is playing on me...it really must be. Aarrggghhh.

Perhaps it is also my brain running a thousand miles an hour...with all of the upcoming events and businesses that I am currently attaching myself to...(the problem with a brain that simply will not slow down...is you find yourself up at now 3:00am and trying to continue working on different projects and such. I guess this could be one of the benefits of being somewhat alone during the holidays is I do have the enjoyment of getting a lot of stuff done....I guess.) When these companies come through and are plentiful you will hear more about them in the blog...but until that time...I will be keeping them somewhat on the downlow as I need to have a little bit of privacy in the process. All that one needs to know is that "The Wright Agency" will be a flourishing company in 2009...and gratefully to some amazing friends who have desired to lend a helping hand. I just need to stay on top of this baby...so it doesnt lose steam over the next 6 months...for that will be the time that it makes its largest step forward. Oh the joys of starting a company during this recession.

So this year I am finding that I will be Santa Claus to myself...yes it is true...Rance Wright is Santa Claus not only to himself...but potentially to some of his friends as well. (They should be made aware...that if I am Santa...they aint getting much more than a 15 dollar gift for Christmas)

So this brunch that is happening on Christmas day...will be happening a little bit later than I had originally hoped for...but that is because I will be working the morning of Christmas..yeah you heard right...I am working on Christmas morning. I am helping some rich folk...enjoy their Christmas morning...oh the life! lol.

Tom...the warrior - Christmas Brunch

So it is Monday morning...2:53am...I am sitting here with a dear friend - Tom - we just had an evening of fun and enjoyment...laughing, crying...and well more laughing. I really do not want to be alone during the holiday season...so Tom has offered a listening ear and a body of protection against....what else....the darn mice that seem to infest my life wherever I may be. (Yes, I have a scary ability to catch those darn buggers in the most oddest of places). So, Tom, the brave person that he is...is offering himself as a warrior against these buggers that dare to harm me....arrrggghhh! lol. Tom, like myself, is in the Theater arts and finds that his only fear in life is not winning the Tony by 2014....I seriously thought that was my year but will allow him this glory if he takes care of those darn villians...aka: the mice. ps: Tom is an amazing cook...in case anyone was wondering.

Over the past couple of days I have really tried my hardest to reach out to friends...friends that perhaps over the past while may find themselves in not the greatest of places. Let us be honest...we all have been there...and often I find it as a reacurring theme in my life. And regardless of whether I have the funds or not to help someone else it is a part of me to make sure that they are happy. So my plan during this holiday season is to have a Christmas Brunch to celebrate the Christmas holidays...a pot luck of sorts with friends who may be without...or may not even so much as have the ability to cook at their own place. If there is one thing that I can offer to friends...it is food...I may not have much more in life...but I can offer that. Yippee for food... So I took a tylenol pm about an hour ago...not really an hour...but it is close enough...and anything that would have been interesting at that time...clearly has exited my brain. Oy...I am tired...and drowssssssssssssyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

So off to sleep what more of the night I have available to me...tomorrow I have a busy day planned...a lot of good. Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays so far.

Merry Christmas in NYC - Alone...I think???

The other day I had the opportunity to talk with my mother....which hasn't happened in a very long time. My mother is one of my dearest friends in the world..and because of me choosing to take a stand on something that my family didn't agree with I now feel such a distance from all of them. I love my family...I love them with all of my heart and that will never change.

As I was speaking to my mother I could hear the hurt in her voice...it saddened me...for now a conversation on what seperates us will and must be something that will be discussed in the future. I understand why my family believes the way they do...I love them for that...it is our religious beliefs that I continue to find that centers me and brings me peace.

I have questioned often where my religious understanding is...am I truly religious...or am I simply just walking the path. That is my goal this upcoming year...to search that out for myself..and truly find peace....if it is possible in my life.

So....due to financial difficulties...sadly I am finding myself in a bind...and have decided that I will be staying home during the holidays. It is a difficult time for all of us...no matter where you are in this world. And because it is easier to stay here in the city and work and make money...I am choosing to do so. Will I be spending it alone...who knows....probably not...I most likely wont even realize that I am missing out on the holidays...since I will be working both Christmas eve and Christmas morning - LUCKY ME!

I plan on getting back to this blog before Christmas actually happens...however, if I do not...I just want to wish each everyone a Happy Holidays...and for those who are jewish...Happy Hannuka today.

Saturday night, a night with Jose Simbulan - Carnegie Hall/New York Philharmonic present Bernstein: The Best of All Possible Worlds - Landmarc

It is Saturday night...I am sitting on my bed...in a black dress shirt, Hugo Boss Black Biker Boots (yeah...I said it), and Banana Republic dark blue jeans (Yeah I didit again...name calling). And you know what...I am totally enjoying my evening. I am relaxed after an wonderful night of music, dinner, conversation with the roomies...and silence...yeah...silence. All I really hear right now is roommates spoon hitting his bowl of cereal as background noice. I mean it really could be much worse than that....most times I am listening to the sounds of the Caribean. So if all I am getting right now is Steve's spoon clicking his bowl...I am ok.

This evening I was invited by my friend Jose S. to accompany him to Carnegie Hall to enjoy the New York Philharmonic present Bernstein: The Best of All Possible Worlds. It was great to listen to the music of a legend. A legend who crossed such a variety of sounds...but kept to his unique style in each one of them. While at the Boston Conservatory we devoted a complete year to his music and shows...I was lucky enough to be in both of the Staged productions - Candide and Wonderful Town. The following year we did Andrew Lippa's "Wild Party" and I was so grateful to be a part of that show as well. Anyway...back to Bernstein - lol - The evening was an amazing success from Susan Graham and Rod Gilfry to Rocardo Morales, Jeremy Denk and Robert Spano....it truly was magnifique.

Then following the evening...already in a blissful peace...I accompanied Jose to Landmarc at Columbus Cirlce where we had dinner and conversation....ummmm my chicken sandwich was beyond decicious...the atmosphere was amazing...and well...the music selection rang out the right tunes over and over. Jose and I were laughing and moving to the sounds and beats of the night you could say. And that is what brings me joy...you can hang with friends...and then you can HANG WITH FRIENDS... love me some Jose!

Anyway....it is time for bed..and I have got to get some beauty sleep...I will try and blog tomorrow.

Christmas in NYC? - Jose - Thanks!!!

So it is 1:33am in the morning...I am sitting here in NYC while the tempature is well below freezing. I feel the coldness oddly enough because the cold is finding its way into my room and on my sheets...and in my bed....brrrr...its freezing people....and I hate the cold. Luckily my bed has the fabric that warms up during the winter and cooler during the summer. I sort of lucked out with my bed...I will be honest! hahaha! Its pretty amazing! I am an amazing guy...with an amazing bed...I have amazing roommates....I have a career I love. What more could I ask for? Christmas in NYC perhaps? HAHAHA...no...sadly...that option vanished when I suggested it to my mother this afternoon. She said it would be to difficult for my sister (Rachelle) and her husband to bring all of the kids gifts and I guess I can see that.

Seriously though...how cool would it be to be in NYC on Christmas. It is totally a time of giving...and enjoyment...You have the city that expresses Christmas to its fullest...and your in one of the most amazing and powerful cities in the world. Christmas and New Years in NYC is nothing to bark at...it just is that wonderful. And how much cooler would that be to spend it with my family...whom I love. I will instead be spending it at home in St. George, Utah where I have spent a majority of my Christmas's growing up. I love it there...I love my family...so I guess as long as I am with them..it should be amazing.

*But it would be kind of amazing to be in NYC on Christmas*

Anyway, I went for dessert with this amazing friend of mine - Jose. And we talked about a lot of crazy things...the most important thing to know about all of this...is that we were completely happy to just be sittin and chattin each others face off. Its those friends who care about you...that come out of the woodwork to help make a difference in your life...and Jose did that for me today. Thanks Jose.

This weekend was also pretty spectacular...and again I have to thank my friends for reaching out a helping hand. I do not take for granted the kindness that is continually offered and shared with me. I am forever grateful for the generosity and love of others...and hope that I am able to return that favor. Randy, Rory, Steven, Brooke, John and Tom all were such amazing friends this weekend - Thank you.

A special thanks to Brian D'Arcy James and his wife Jen who were such great sports in offering Rebecca Holt Gilmore and myself tickets to see his show on Broadway. "Shrek, the Musical", if you haven't taken the time to see Brian...I suggest you all save your pennies...and watch the brilliance that is Brian D'Arcy James.

I have given a lot of thanks to others today...but I really am in that place right now. I am happy...so in my happiness I desire to give of what I can give right now...that is my heart. I am at peace...and peace is what I truly want from life. With so much around us that is unstable...finding peace with ourselves is really something that I treasure. Thank god for peace...Thank god for friends...Thank god for family...Thank god for life.

Shrek review...finally! - Working with Evan Haile on Music - NYC Love...a joke?

Wow...I am really suprised sometimes who views my blog...I mean I like to think that people really do care what I have to say in life...but sometimes the sad reality is...its just me that observes this blog on a continous basis...or I like to think so. UGH...I really should have a censor on my writing...right? lol.

So I had a dear friend this morning (I am keeping names and people anonymous...for the pure fact that I should) who told me that my blog yesterday was a bit aggressive and that I should tame it down in regards to Shrek, The Musical. And then I was like...hmmm...this person is correct...but as I was observing many of the other blogs and reviews that were already given out about the show...I didn't really see anything that I had previously written (mind you I edited my words from yesterday...to say what it currently says) as harmful to those in the cast or different informatively then anything that was said before my review of the show.

So I have decided to write my feelings...but I do so with caution...also with the hopes that some of these faults/hopeful corrections can be looked at before the official opening of the show. Mainly because...it really does have such great potential to be a long running show...which could potentially give me work during its run. sidenote: What I referenced in yesterdays blog...is really true...the leads of this show..and the cast in general is superb...my corrections come with the technical and some of the staging of the show.

1. The Dragon - I dont understand why the 3 ladies are in front of the dragon while the dragon is speaking...seriously...it doesn't make any since...and we as an audience...lose the dragon as a whole...it sort of destroys the purpose of the DRAGON. Also...if I remember right there was a little more interaction between the Dragon and Shrek in the movie - all I remember seeing was a tail-less Dragon running around the stage...and Shrek, Donkey and the Princess running away..and never really truly confronting the Dragon. (I am sure this has been a huge issue through the rehearsal proces and I am not assuming that I know the answer to this all...but seriously if it is not cleaned up somehow...that scene will be a major joke at the opening and commented about throughout the reviews here in NYC). Some things that could help with the tail of the dragon..is maybe attatching it to the head... and different choreography there...because as an audience..your not sure if the tail is part of the place where the princess is being held..or if it is the Dragon...just a thought.

2. In the story of the musical arent we missing a storyline...the prince and his mother the fairy godmother? I know it is already a long show...but I was like...hmmm....that part of the show...which in the movies...is a major part of the 2nd and 3rd movie...is totally left out in the musical!?!?! Obviously it is now to late to write those characters in...but if I noticed it...I am sure my little nieces and nephews are going to notice it as well.

That is really all I remember at this moment...and will definetely be the last that I openly write about it...but I want to say again...I laughed my face off at times....so it is obviously an enjoyment to see the show live. Hopefully a couple of these things are looked at and corrected before the official opening of "Shrek, The Musical" on Broadway happens.

I had the wonderful pleasure today to spend time with Evan Haile's...a dear friend of mine. I had the pleasure of running through some of my music that I am familiar with and trying to find my voice again. It was great to work with someone who is so direct with me...and believe me...I need direct...I need someone who is my friend...but not affraid to throw things in my face when it obviously is not working for a song or needs to be corrected. A lot of things I knew...but that is the beauty of working with someone like Evan...is he reminds you of your talents...and what you should be doing. I look forward to getting back with James Javore as well...because while working with Evan I realized how much my Legit voice was not there....it was a little shocking to me. I can do rock and pop in my sleep...but to sing "If I LOVED YOU" with legato...I was physically commenting during my song...and that just hasn't happened in a long time. Lessons with James will place me back in my voice....I cannot wait.

Now onto another subject...and please feel free to comment on this...Why in NYC is love so dispossable...seriously...I get frustrated at how replaceable I am (yeah sure...some will say I am irreplaceable...which I love hearing...but its not the truth sadly) I get asked out...and go out all the time...with friends and potential dates...but I am coming to realize...that perhaps single is the right thing for me in my life right now. Its amazing how much a relationship throws me off of my game or my center (as a dancer would say)...and how I lose track for a short while of my goal at hand. Perhaps I should work on my career...stay single...and then when I am more settled in my career...pursue a relationship if life affords me one at that time. Eh, it just a thought..but oddly enough I think about it a lot. My last relationship was such a mess for me...and somewhat destroyed a lot of what I believed in love (wow...Madonna's song just came into my head...eeek! Anyway)...single is the way for me.

Perhaps...my career...and religion...are my relationships for now...and I am ok with that.

Again..I am up way to late in the morning...I need to go to bed....yikes...I have a gig tomorrow at 330pm...I have got to get to bed! Nite everyone...talk at ya later!

"Shrek, The Musical" - Mike Davids and not getting paid - Looking forward

So I was sitting alone on my butt..doing nothing when my friend Rebecca Holt Gilmore called me and says - under her breath - "I have tickets for Shrek...wanna go with me". I asked her why she was speaking under her breath...and then in the background I heard little Ruby (her daughter) and just figured that her children probably wanted to see the show...soooo as not to make a scene...she was speaking so only I could hear her.

I have my opinions on the show...if you care to know...ask me personally....Brian D'arcy James was without a doubt one of the better parts of the show. Sutton Foster and He really make the show a success. And his ability to become Shrek...well...is quite brilliant. Congrats

Observing shows like this really makes me want to be a part of the creative teams on Broadway...that bug has always been such a major part of who I am. One thing at a time....I keep telling myself....one thing at a time.

I am in the process of looking for another job....working for Mike Davids of Special Productions has become somewhat of a joke....He owes me so much money right now....and is just simply ignoring my contact...or requests to be paid. So I guess this friendship...and crap that I had to go through on his behalf meant nothing obviously...and that the many hours of work for him....was done for the pure pleasure of him gainging money? I went through HELL...no joke...working on a project for him in P.A. and also a show that was suppose to happen in South Dakota - Aberdeen...and wouldnt you know that I still havent been paid for them. What kind of person do you have to be...especially during the holiday...to not pay your staff? Its so inconsiderate...and hurtful. He creates random companies...goes by different names...creates new emails...runs away from people...and does this all because he feels that it is ok. My belief is what goes around...comes around. I am thinking of sitting with 15 other people...and talent outside his apartment until he comes out and speaks to us. Yes....we are planning on camping outside his place.

Anyway...life is difficult right now...as far as doing the day to day things....mainly because of Mike not paying me. When that is resolved....life will be a little easier...and my focus on auditions and shows...will be easier.

I look forward to a new year...to spending time with my family...to being single - I enjoy hanging around friends...friends who are supportive and caring....I love my Photography Train crew....miss them actually.

I am having Breakfast with NYLE CAISLEY...so I better head to bed soon.

Woke up late - Work...oy! - MICE!!! - Sick/Sleeping

Today I found myself sleeping until 2pm....who does that? I went to bed early...and yet couldnt find myself able to get up earlier than that time. What? Who does that? Obviously I do. I guess I really needed the sleep...thank heavens I didn't have work today.

Speaking of work...I have been working for an individual and as of recently have found myself begging him to pay me. I have worked the hours...and performance weekends...and yet I am struggling to get a hold of him to be paid. It sort of sucks...because it is the holidays...and well you want to be spending time with family and such...and at the rate of him not responding...WHICH IS NEVER...I am now inching by. Sometime's I wonder why I don't have a 9-5 job...wouldn't life be so much easier?

So as I am writing this post...a little mouse just tried to run into my room. I am sorry...I can stand just about anything...but that little bugger scares the crap out of me...I am hyper-ventilating right now. UGH! Seriously...if anyone has any advice as to how I can get rid of mice...I have tried everything...and still taking advice. This is also one of the down sides to NYC - The mice are in the walls...and it is difficult to get rid of...but I am working my hardest to make sure they don't continue to live in the same apartment as I. ewww. Just saw it again...what the CRAP!!!

I have been sick over the past couple of days...sleeping lots...but am finally feeling better today.

Wow...just hit that tired feeling...yeah I am up at 3:44am and should already be asleep....but when you wake up at 2pm in the afternoon..I guess your timing gets all messed up.

Thanksgiving holiday

Wow, when I take breaks from things...I really take breaks....the last time I wrote on this was earlier in the week. Not good...not good.

So much has happened over the past couple of days...

First off I had the pleasure of sharing my Thanksgiving day with my dear friend Rebecca Holt and her family (the Gilmores). What an amazing family...with hearts of gold. They welcomed me with open arms into their home to share in the happiness that Thanksgiving day brings. Along with the Gilmores were their extended family - also a pleasure. After the Thanksgiving meal I found myself a quite spot to lay back and sleep for about an hour....a tradition I learned a couple of years ago. Every year my family usually sits around the table and expresses to the rest of the family what we are grateful for...well the Gilmore's also offered that same tradition. Usually with my family it ends up being one big sob fest...well with the Gilmore's it was different....oddly enough I was the only one crying out of control - seriously, OUT OF CONTROL. I expressed to everyone the joys of the gospel of Jesus Christ and regardless of where you are in this world the gospel brings us together in ways that no one can express. And though I wasn't with my family during the holiday season it was wonderful to be with people and friends whom I know love me and who care.

The rest of the weekend I found myself just relaxing around the house and finding new and different projects that I could get myself attached to....

I hope everyone's Thanksgiving holiday was as wonderful as mine....

I am sitting at home on a Friday night....wondering what it is I should do....I find myself somewhat taken by the weeks events...and the people I have met...and ponder upon the idea of just sitting this Friday out. I know where many of my friends and family are...safe. And wonder if walking outside the below freezing temperatures here in NYC is really a smart idea.

Nah, the idea of venturing outside...actually exhausts me...and I know that tomorrow is filled with excitement...so I will stay in...because its safest for me to do so. Safe...for many reasons unknown.

Voices to my blog - Auditions - Roommates - Gavin Degraw

So I had to get off the subject of Prop 8 for this post....I just needed a break...as I am sure we all did. There has been so much effort right now across the board on both sides of the issue...and for a moment I will let them speak loudly and let my voice - for a moment - slip into the background.

It was shocking to me who became voices to my blog...I mean less than a month ago my blog was only viewed by a few friends and family...but as of recently I was getting emails and blog posts and sightings by some pretty influential people, magazines and news stations who desired to know how one in the middle of this subject was experiencing the heat of it all. It was fun to post...and yet it was very emotional as well.

I found myself being asked in the middle of major auditions what my standing on the whole subject was - I was suprized because I didn't think it really mattered how I felt...or how I went about my daily life....but for some odd reason it mattered to these people. Is it fair? Should people be judged because of the way they believe...whether they support or do not support a certain way of life or thought? Is it anyones right to push one to believe one way or the other? My belief is very simple...it is not the right of anyone individual or group...whether you agree or disagree with a certain way of life....to push your belief system and thought process upon another group.

I have had the pleasure of finding two amazing roommates...Brooke and Steven. Last night we had the opportunity of re-arranging the front room (I believe this is because Steven and Brooke were watching the home improvement station) and found a new way to put all of my things...hahaha. I love living with people who can make you laugh and not take life so seriously...it is wonderful to find true friends in your roommates. Thanks guys....for everything.

This week I had the opportunity to find the piano music for Gavin Degraw...and will begin rehearsing his music with my music coach. I cannot wait to audition with this music...it is about time I have found something new to sing.

To all my faithful followers to my blog....I love you to pieces....please feel free to respond...and to remark...it is your responses that makes my blog so dang interesting!

To both Bundy 6 pak and Alton Clan,

I am not searching for truth's...I found them in the church. My observation of members of the church here in NYC and many of my own cousins and relatives (who have given their support for my way of thinking) is that you can be an active member of the church and disagree with an action being taken. The leaders of our church - though prophets and apostles - are human as well.

Do not assume you know me...or that your way of thinking is ideal for me. You do not know where I came from...you do not understand my heart...you have not had to deal with my problems or issues in life...and you will not see death the same way.

The gospel of Jesus Christ...the gospel I hold dear to my heart...is not a gospel of hatred or hard feelings...or a gospel that should ever make one feel less than the very best. If it is...than we have all been fooled. Your thoughts and actions sadly have come across somewhat aggressive yourself...

I write on my blog to express to others my feelings....I am not searching...do not assume that...I honestly am suprised how so many people felt that...and people who obviously have never lived outside the community of the mormon church.

Do you want to know my honest feelings....I believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to be True....but the people of the church and the community of the church... are some of the most hateful and hurtful people I have ever met - take it from someone who has lived both on the inside of that community and out.

First take a look at how you are perceived...don't assume that the way you present yourself is the most helpful...because honestly....it is not.

To all...my heart reaches out...I feel the pain that it is causing both the members of the church and to those who are gay. It hurts for both. Neither truly listening to the other...both simply just throwing up arms. Seriously... cant we all play on the field like civil children.

Hi, I came across your blog thru a mutual friend (aleisha black-she is awesome). Your words are heart felt on this matter and I like you was on the fence. See, here in AZ the vote to ban gay marriage (prop 1020 has passed. I was unsure how to vote until Elder Boyd K Packer spoke to the saints here and said very clearly that though the church does not engage in political matters, that this one was a morale one and he urged all of us to vote for prop 1020. So I did, as I am sure the saints did in CA.

My response to her:

Dear bundy 6 pak,

Thank you so much for kind words and thoughts. I feel like many...simply just took the advice of the the church leaders blindly without realizing that this effort rather than being a support for the Proclamation of the Family was going to feel, to the world, like a statement against the minority thus turning many against the church.Why? Because it is not ok for the church to be getting involved politically.

Due to Elder Boyd K Packer stating something..urging the members to vote one way on this political matter... because of him doing this...it is now ok for the Government to tax the LDS CHURCH.

We are a country that believes in the separation of church and state...this matter should be left to the individual members of the church...to decide...and those who disagree should not feel shunned or persecuted for believing differently than the Priesthood leaders or the majority of those out west.

Blindly supporting a church...just because someone says so...is incorrect. I actually said a prayer about my decision...and feel confident that this is the right step for me - does that mean I am less of a member? Or not worthy? No. And yet I am receiving horrible words from many because I believe different than them.

Sounds like a majority - not you included - feel hatred towards me...rather than simply understanding my point of view...they are pushing me slowly to turn away from those teachings that I hold dear to my heart.

We can disagree with Prop 8 and still be strong members of the Mormon church...don't ever forget that.

I would hope that many of you out there have the opportunity to live next to a gay couple...get to know them...watch there daily life...how they support others...and give to their community. All they want...is the same rights you have as members of the church...to marry someone you love. (sure it may sound awkward to some - but oddly so did blacks in the priesthood and interracial marriage).

sidenote: Tomorrow across the country there will be a major movement at city halls...this is the beginning of a major Civil Rights movement - possibly one of the biggest ones since slavery. Why must a church, a country feel so differently about two things they both hold dear and sacred.

a thought: I was thinking...what if homosexuality was a religion? Do you think the Mormon church would present such a stance against this particular faith...since we are told to never force our religious faith or way of life upon other faiths? hmmm....just a thought.

Stacie, The beautiful thing about blogging...is we can share our personal feelings so the world can read them. Your comments I support...and I respect.

As of lately I have had the opportunity to work with those dealing with HIV/AIDS, older gay couples who have been together for many many years...and because of an illness find their lives and years together limited. Due to this cause I see the hurt that we as a church our placing on these innocent people. All they desire is their rights as members of this country...nothing more and nothing less...and as such...I feel that it is important that I take a stand in support of their right...remember...I am not supporting their way of life...but their right as United States citizens. There will come a time when this law across the country will pass - we can not...as members of the Church of Jesus Christ...look like a people that support putting the minority down...what will we say at that moment...when all that is remembered of our faith was the fact that we fought against a movement supporting the minority(since we too find ourselves so often in that minority)...and the world then turns their hearts away from us and our teachings.

I do not look at this any longer as us standing for our own beliefs as a faith...that is what our first amendment right is to practice the way we desire...gays being allowed to marry will not take away that freedom...nor will they be allowed to marry in the temples...because that is the rights of the church to only allow worthy members of the church to attend the temple - that will not change. I also do not believe the lies that have been told about ...if we allow gay marriage then 1st graders will be taught homosexuality in our schools. I actually spoke with a teacher from MASSACHUSETTS who said that in the school system (since this is the location where they say it is being taught to first graders) - sexuality is not spoken of until the 7th grade. This lie that is being spread amongst the members to scare them is wrong. All of this hatred on both sides...needs to stop. It seriously does.

I dont hate you...and you dont hate me...I know that.

My head and heart hurt

Just so my family is aware at how much this is hurting me...it is 5:25am in the morning..I have not slept...and cannot sleep. My head and my heart hurts. My heart hurts because regardless of the fact that I stand for something I believe in...my family is taking it personally...when it was never my place to hurt or offend. I wish my family knew me well enough to know that regardless of my personal belief in something...my heart will always be grateful and proud of who and what my family is and stands for. They are my rock.

Rally Entry - 65th/Broadway - NYC Mormon Temple

It is 2:15am...Thursday morning...I am still awake...because I have found myself exhausted by everything that is taking place right now in my life, in this country...and seriously...in this city. Decisions and making a point about something that I feel should just simply be common sense...yet...I feel so much of the negativity.

About a week ago...I found myself shocked at some of the information that I was receiving...it shocked me because I felt that so much of what I had been raised to believe...love thy neighbor...was simply an action that was not being met by many of my friends. Now please...do not get all up in arms at that comment...I am just mentioning a very elementary subject that we have all been taught...the importance of not shunning or not finding faults in others. So I decided...regardless of my background...that Mormonism and the Civil Rights of others can walk hand in hand. And this is something I firmly believe...that people regardless of their religious or non-religious views have the right to believe and perform the way that they would like.

Members of the church need to realize that people are not throwing anger currently at them for believing the way they believe...people across the country are upset that members would support a cause (20 million dollars worth - from members alone) that supports hatred. Yes I understand the Proclamation of the Family and I have a testimony of it...that does not mean that it is ok for me...to dish out money towards a Civil - not Moral law...that would infringe on others rights to believe the way that they want. I have always felt that it was unjust for any person to force a belief or way of life on anyone else.

example: While I was on my mission in Detroit, MI...we came across two member of another faith...who also went two by two to share their message of their gospel. When they confronted my missionary companion and myself on the freeway walkover and began to tell me how wrong I was and that I was believing in a faith that was inappropriate...I silenced them and said "What I believe to be correct is true...and the spirit of the lord...does not dwell in a place of confrontation or in force. If you would like to discuss your church with us and we with you...I would be happy to sit down peacefully and discuss this...but to force your opinion upon me will only cause me to close my ears and my heart towards you." My companion...a greeny at the time...was shocked to my response to these two individuals.

2nd example: Another story from my mission...a lady by the name of Cleta McNoriel - 75 year old Catholic women...who had been taking lessons from the Missionaries for over 6 years was continually confronted with aggressive missionaries who demanded that she get baptized...and what a sin it was to keep dragging the missionaries along with in this way. When I moved into that area...I learned about her very quickly...and I wanted to meet her since she was high on the mission list of individuals that we wanted to help bring into the gospel. So I went and spoke with her...and listened to my companion who tore into her conversationally immediately upon our arrival. Once he was done speaking to her...I asked if I could say some words of comfort to her...and first to let her know that the Savior loved her. This decision was not something that she needed to jump into...and it is a decision that when she felt of the comforting feelings of the spirit she needed to move forward with. I did this with a soft heart...a heart that I could tell spoke to her soul. Not a heart of fear...or a heart of discomfort...but a heart of love. She could tell that...and wouldn't you know...after 6 years of talking to the missionaries...she asked me to baptize and confirm her a member of the church.

Friends...I share this...because this support of a proposition...though it opposes your personal belief system...is sending to the world...a message that is different than what you all think it should be sharing. Sadly it is sharing a message of force and hate. The church is not hate nor does it believe in force...I know that...I get that. But tell that to Joe Schmoe...and they do not get that nor do they desire to understand...they only see the actions being taken. (the money being donated...not your belief in the proclamation)

Today I went to the Rally that began at the Mormon temple on 65th and Broadway..and went down Broadway with over 20,000 people to Columbus Circle (the South/West corner of Central Park). I along with other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints...walked in support of a community that has been shunned for over 200 years. I cried at times...and screamed at times...because I felt like myself and many of the church members who were in support of this cause...also had to fight against those walking who were blaming the church for many things. Mind you...I am not a quiet mouth and spoke up everytime something in harm of the church was referenced...and I did so as a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

There are pictures of myself along with the members of the church who came out to support...along with thousands of others. I may post a picture of the members who were there...and felt proud to be both a member of the church...and a believer in this rally.

This was a peaceful rally...because this rally was not meant to place blame (especially because us members were there to filter a lot of their comments) but yet to make members aware that their message of donating money...is beginning to anger the majority of those across the country. This rally...was the NYC community stating that they do not approve of the action taken...by the members of the church.

Do you realize that a man who is Mormon was forced from his job...as Artistic Director - of Sacramento Music Circus...forced out by the Broadway Community. They found out that he supported with a 1,000.00 dollar donation to Prop 8 and the Broadway community (my profession) found this out...and took away his upcoming season from him. They asked him how he could justify putting some of the most racy productions in the past couple of years on stage...and hires a majority of those who deal with same sex attraction over his own faith...and yet voted against those he hired...so the Broadway, Equity community responded with a huge swipe against him.

People...wake up...please...this sort of action...is unnecessary...seriously...and as a member of the church..and one who supports NO prop 8...it is sitting to close to home for me.

My father...earlier this evening..sent me a letter saying that I am hurting my mom. To my dear family....I love you...I am not making a stand against you...please know that...I have a testimony of the church...I have a testimony of families...I love you. That is the reason I wrote and posted my letter to you...because I do love love you and I care...and it is important that through all of this...you know that most of all...my heart is whole when I think of you...and I do care and love you.

Ok...this is already a novel..I can tell...sweet dreams to all of you. I may need to edit this tomorrow...because my writing probably doesnt make since. Goodnight!

Responding to a comment on my blog from two days ago

This was another response I wrote to a friends older sister...(the details of the RALLY are coming soon!!!).

Janae...as I sat today at the rally with many members of the church...I cried...why did I cry? Because both sides are not listening to the other. I found myself torn. I appreciate your sister writing on my blog...and I support her to continue to read my blog...but I found myself somewhat affected by her comment of her standing before god and knowing that she chose right in the eyes of the lord. Janae...I love you...I adore you...but I do not feel any less of a member nor do 100's of members of the church who were at that rally in support of NO prop 8. When an individual states that my testimony before GOD is any less than hers...it is completely wrong...and unjust. Who is she to assume that my faith in GOD and JESUS CHRIST is faltering because I agree with a majority of other LDS members here in NYC. I am a member of the Harlem 1st WARD...I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have a very strong testimony of the church. You can have your opinion...but when you place value on my testimony (STACIE LANG) you are walking a very wrong line.

You are no more loved than the next person...and to assume so...is simply hateful.

I love each of you....please know this...I do not write on my blog for any other reason than to share my thoughts...My testimony of my savior is mine...and mine alone...and I feel that when I stand before GOD and Jesus Christ...they will understand my reason for doing so..and will love and respect me just the same.

A letter to my family and friends

Dear Family and Friends,

I am writing this email to you to let you know how much I do love each and every one of you...over the past week I have pondered my feelings on a subject that oddly enough sits close to home (Proposition 8). And regardless of whether you believe the same way I do...it is affecting each of us in a very powerful way. I believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with all of my heart...it is the gospel that gives me a majority of my happiness...not including my family of course of whom I love and respect.

That being said...I firmly believe in - "The Family Proclamation" - the LDS church's standing on marriage. I believe that with all of my heart...and in no place on earth can a child receive a better way of life. However, at a time in our society where so much change is happening and where the majority of the families across the board are being raised by single parents. This both damaging to the life of the child and more importantly the future understanding of what is important.

Regardless of what I may believe...it is not our place as true Christians...to force any other family...whether they be black, white, gay or straight...to believe the way that we believe. All that we can do is love them regardless. Marriage in whatever form it comes in..unites two individuals who obviously care for each the opportunity to be bound together. It is their right....and to be honest...it is the right of every member of this country to feel that they have rights. That is why we live here in this wonderful country. The church knew that there would be many that disagreed...and I was a little beside myself when a family member referenced that I am following two masters....that is wrong. It is our free agency...and it is our right as members of the church to take a stand. This same sort of picketing happened when it was illegal to allow black people to marry in 1967....and also to give black people the right to the priesthood.

It is fear...fear of the unknown that scares us all...it scared people in 1967 and it scares people today.

I firmly believe that the church will listen to the prayers of it members...on both sides...and will then speak openly about the issue.

So as I take a stand...that obviously opposes many of my family members...I do so with love...I do so...because I feel that the right of those whose voice is small...deserve their rights as well.

ps: The reason why I posted this...is because tonight at 630pm there will be a huge picketing happening outside the LDS temple in NYC. Do I support picketing...no...but this just shares with you how big this issue has become...it is now a NATIONAL ISSUE...and the church, sadly...is getting the grunt of it all due to over 75% of all donations coming from members of the church.

The Gym - Opinions on Prop 8

So I just started actively working out again...and let me tell you...my body is screaming at me. You gotta love it. It feels good to let your body know who is in charge...and for your body parts to just scream ouch the day after you work them out. Love it...hate it...gotta deal with it I guess. Man sometimes I wonder why I chose such a self centered profession...But then again...look who's talking.

I want to give a huge thanks to my sister and friends who wrote on my blog yesterday...you must know that I love and support each of your opinions...isn't it wonderful to know that we live in a country where we can openly share our opinion whether it agrees or disagrees with those we love. I understand that most of my family may not agree the way that I do...but I know they love me...and that is what matters most to me - no proposition can take that away.

I am off to the gym...I am meeting with two of my dearest friends tonight for dinner and a movie...should be fun...talk at you laterz.

My continued stance on (no) prop 8

Continuation of the (no) prop 8 stance of which I hold - this is my response to a dear friend:

Perhaps if we understood why the individuals chose this life in the first place...perhaps everyone would be more understanding of their decisions and way of life. There are many of those whom are same sex attracted who were molested by those with authority ...so their understanding of what is right has been damaged...and forever will be. So does that make it right...no....but does it make it right for anyone else not involved to assume that one made their decision to love one of the same sex purely by their own will. Or perhaps is it all they understand due to that one moment as a child when they simply had no choice in the issue?!? Again...who am I to be the judge of Israel for anyone...it is not my choice...nor should it be yours. All that we can do as true Christians...is to love everyone...regardless of who they are or what they stand for. And so I choose to support those who may not understand why they have been given the choice to love one of the same sex. I love unconditionally.

ps: I am not saying that all or the majority of those whom are gay were molested...I do not walk the path of each individual...however, I do know many of my own friends and performer friends...who were molested by those with some sort of authority over them. This changing forever the way that they personally view sex and view sexual behavior.

My argument: People...regardless of where they come from and their belief system...have no right to take away anyone elses freedom to love...that and only that moral decision can be God alone. It is our place to love that person...and rather than finding the differences between us...rather find what brings us closer together.

Post Jersey Boys Audition - Children Shows - Facebook - (NO)Prop 8

It has been a while since I last wrote an entry on my blog...about a week...and though that is much less time then many of my family or friends....it is a long time for me. So here is the news in relation to my audition. In prepping for my audition my agent had requested that I prepare with a lot of Jersey swagger...what is Jersey swagger you might ask...well if you have ever seen the Soprano's...that is Jersey swagger. So I prepared with the information I was given. Now, as one who has seen "Jersey Boys" the musical, I knew that the character I was up for was a little more flamboyant then most in the show. So I was a bit confused as to why I was given that information. I was prepared...and well prepared at that...so as I went into the large room at Chelsea Studios on 26th street between 6th and 7th avenue...I felt that I was ready to go. I was dressed in all black, black tie, black dress shoes...I look amazing (I mean really...when do I not - lol.) As I began my song everything went well...the production team was supportive of my choice. Then as I began to share my lines that I was asked to prepare...they asked me where my flamboyant self was. I was confused...because from my agents standpoint...that was the last thing that they wanted to see. So I left the audition room...still confused as to what had happened...and called my agent up immediately...a little mad...and requested that she call the Casting company and explain what had just happened. ( I was told incorrect information to prepare.) Anyway...the amazing Merri Sugarman told my agent that she would like to take some time with me...the next time she see's me...to go over some stuff...because she feels I am talented enough...and there is something very intriquing about me that she would like to see on stage. SO WHO KNOWS WHAT THAT MEANS...BUT I FEEL GOOD ABOUT THE FINAL RESULT. Oh the life of a performer...oy!

Recently I have had the opportunity to Manage and Direct a couple of childrens shows around the country. It has been both enjoyable...and stressful beyond belief. My hopes is to eventually run my own company...mainly because I feel I can do better myself. (lol - I love how I always feel I could do a better job myself...when I clearly have no idea how much *@&% people have to deal with - or do I?).

I am currently a member of facebook - I love how everyone considers you a friend...even people I clearly have never met. lol. I am curious though...I recently had someone who completely did me wrong request to be my friend. How do I react to that...do I just excuse the last six months of frustration with this individual and a connection of lies just pass and let them be my friend...or do I simply just ignore them...obviously...no interaction with this person is better than any interaction with them...so I ignored them. Was I wrong to do so?

Just recently I have had people argue with me on my personal belief to support NO on prop 8...which obviously at this point lost in California. My belief is this...if people desire to be married to one of the same sex...who am I to take away their happiness. One thing I learned on my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was that I am no Judge of Israel...and it is not my place to decide the happiness or unhappiness of others. When people feel that they are supported and loved...that is when change or a difference can be made. It is very similar to that of a child...when a parent or a guardian lowers themself to the eyes of a child...and speaks to them directly...not pushing them..or bullying them...or forcing them to believe or do something that they ask...that is when the child takes their own steps and desires to make change for themselves. Perhaps if the members of the church...could speak to those who deal with same sex attraction in the same demeanor...perhaps more could be understood and done. I love the church in NYC...because all are welcome and do not feel out of place...the members in NYC reach out their arms of understanding...and would never donate so much money to a cause in a completely different part of the country. Its rediculous.

Anyway...had to share some of my thoughts...I hope this finds all of you well.

Craziness - Delicious Chicken

It is 2:39pm...my brain is going a thousand miles an hour..."Why?" you might ask. Well, I commit myself to so many things. Currently I am making sure that a show is going to go up in South Dakota...and I have an audition for Jersey Boys tomorrow...I am rehearsing my lines and songs tonight..and I am going to be coached in the morning tomorrow. Seriously people....I am about to go crazy. Plus immediately after the audition...I am possibly flying to South Dakota....HELP!!! Am I crazy...obviously!

Anyway, I have be honest....today I cooked some chicken....and it was quite delicious. My secret...Olive Oil. Who knew? Some have told me egg helps it....or a little stick of butter help it...but I will be honest...its the Virgin Olive Oil...that has my mouth watering.

I am about to head and do some laundry...lucky for me...I have less than a block to walk to do it...Isnt NYC great! Hahaha!

Was just notified that I have an audition for JERSEY BOYS!

I am just about to head to Rebecca Holt's place... to prepare for my audition on Friday for Jersey Boys! Last time I was called in for this show was the first time I got an agent call for it and the phenomenal Merri Sugarman of Tara Rubin Casting stopped me and said..."You aren't Bob Gaudio, but you are definetely Bob Crewe." So there you have it...a year later...almost to the date...I am being called in for Bob Crewe. Its just simply an audition - however, it is great to be remembered and recognized by any casting director...especially one so influential in the business. Thank you Merri!

New Music - Exciting emotions - Dave in "Alvin and the Chipmunks" - Waiting for the final three of my family to visit.

It is Tuesday afternoon around 4:23pm...It is cold outside...and it is raining. I have been working on some new music for auditions...some old favorites...and some modern music. Its exciting...to get new music and try and place it within your own voice. A difficult task...but once it is accomplished it is a very satisfying and worthwhile experience.

Growing up a dancer - trained by my mother...I found such exciting emotions as I expressed myself through dance. As I got to college and learned to sing - most especially at the Boston Conservatory...I found out that those same emotions could come to me through singing. Communication in whatever forms it finds itself is important. I love to sing...its fun for me...it moves me...and sometimes if it is not done correctly..it can completely bore me.

So this weekend I am suppose to go to Aberdeen, SD and play the role of Dave in "Alvin and the Chipmunks" - I haven't heard from the producer (M. Davids of Special Productions, inc./ Very Special Productions, inc.) as of yet...so unclear of what is going on. As a Leo (born in the beginning month of August) I find the need to have things clearly scheduled and planned in advanced. Working with this producer I have learned that most things are done last minute on his schedule. I feel bad because it puts a lot of people who would be extremely talented for the job - the lack of trust in the company to do it...but allows potentially less talented individuals who are not as well versed in music or in the art, yet have done an ok job at the shows (not superb), the opportunity in working. Alas, I am not the boss...I am simply the assistant to the producer.

I have lived in NYC for almost 2 1/2 years...and yet I have only had four members of my family here to visit me in NY. Not saying anything, but Rachelle, Krystal and Shane have not been to NYC to visit me...and I expect their visit soon. Just putting it out there! Love you guys! hahaha!

Anyway...I have been invited to a dinner...so I have got to end my entry today a little shorter than I would like. Back at you later!

Brookiemeister - Equity Dues - Chariot - Bloknthoughts - Friends - Golddigger in Sign Language

Hey world...I just spent a very relaxing and comical evening with my dear friend and roommate Brooke (aka: the brookiemeister). Yes, I have a female roommate...no we dont share the same room - but we do live within the same boundries of an apartment. To some that can seem a little scary...but to us here in NYC...it is everyday life. Brooke is one of the most endearing individuals - whom has a heart gold. We have had many a long stroll, conversation, meal and movie time together. I adore her....and lets be honest...who wouldn't.

I have finally taken care of Actor Equity Dues...and I am back in business...reading the Equity page...finding out auditions...and calling all of my friends and teachers in the business to get back to my normal routine...or the routine that I had become familiar with.

I love music..I do...and it is such a powerful tool my life...it gives me joy and makes me extremely happy. I was just listening to Gavin Degraw's - Chariot...it is such a powerful song to me and moves me like no other song can. I have found myself on the subway...in a comfortable sweater, or jacket with a hood...listening to this song...and just moving with a huge smile on my face. If you want to be motivated to just move...listen to that song. It is a great motivator...and I think I am going to be adding it to my book of music for auditions. Watch out Broadway! lol.

If you have never been to my sister Rachelles's website..you seriously should...the girl is dynamite on blog writing - simply stroll to my friends...and look her up...she sometimes has competitions which I believe everyone should be a part of. Plus she takes great pictures of the rest of my family...and I will be honest...they are pretty darn cute.

Now I have noticed that I am beginning to have friends of whom I have not spoken to in a long time find me on this blogging thing...and I just wanted to give a shout out to all of them - I love hearing from them and finding out what is going on in their lives...so keep the comments coming and keep the conversations growing. Speaking of friends...went to dinner with Eli last night...and it was wonderful to talk about the things that matter to us most - life - and our involvement in it..hahaha! Thank you Eli!

Anyway...let me know your thoughts to this..I would some day love to create a dance piece to this idea of Golddigger - Signlanguage format. What an amazing piece of art...right?

Waste of an entry

It is again early in the morning on Tuesday - about 12:56am when I am beginning to write this email.

I am now only on the second sentence and it is an hour later and I need to go to bed...hahaha...what a waste of an entry...I will get back to this later on in the day today!

Friends Not Listening - Talking out of my.....

So I am sitting here talking to my friend Eli on the phone about a very important and dear situation in my life...and after I am done talking I hear him breathing heavy and I am like... Eli...are you there? Are you listening to me? And he jumps on and it was obvious that he was not listening....ya know, that is a little disturbing when you dont realize how long you have been talking and that it bores everyone around you. So I was a little bit distraught by the thought and jumped off the phone. Obviously as a Leo and a performer we do not like to be ignored...and/or not listened to. When will people ever learn..lol!

I cant wait to get back out there and auditioning....I have been missing it...seriously missing the people...my friends...the opportunity to get out there and perform. I have got my groove back baby...and I cant wait.

Now, I just need to get a job..hahaha!

Anyway, I am so wanting to find outlets for my desires and wants...like choreography...and creating...and performing...directing. These are all things that I love to do...and am pretty darn good at. Seeking for the good in others and helping other reach their potential...it excites me. I want to teach at a University....I want to create my own program...I want to help people realize their abilities and nurture them in the right fashion.

I have created some companies/events..."The Photography Train", "The Wright Agency", "Sunset Cruise For Change" (which is still in the works). And all because I needed some outlet to do so. I love creating things....(how many times have I said that...) - now I just need to move them forward and make them huge realities.

Wow, I am totally talking out of my arse right now...as you can tell from my above paragraph...it is an english professors nightmare...and gave me a headache to read. hahaha...

ok...off to bed...it is 1:43am in NYC and its a beautiful fall night. Friends...lets come back to this when my brain is working.

Mom's Visit - Past 6 Months - Water - Getting Older is Scary!

Wow...that was a long exit. Perhaps when you are trying to figure things out about yourself - which lets be honest, it is a life process - it takes time.

I had the wonderful opportunity this last week to have my mom - Ann Wright - visit me in New York City. Her energy is so empowering as only a mothers energy can be. Because of her visit I feel somewhat renewed - and I am grateful for her taking time out of her busy schedule to come visit lil-ol-me.

For the past six months I really felt as if I was punched in the stomach and oddly enough I couldn't get my air back. Life over the past six months has been both extremely hard, but amazingly rewarding. I always feel that when I have the opportunity to learn more about myself, I am able to be a better me. Anyone who feels that they have hit the end of the learning curve (and we have all run into those kinds of people) , is hiding behind their own issues, problems and struggles. The value of change is without a doubt one of the most important things we can learn in life - and no this is not support for Obama change - I am speaking of life changes.

I am drinking a delicious Smart Water right now - it iis amazing how devine water is. It is also amazing how important water is to our way of life, energy and culture. Not that I really had much more than that to say about it...just thought I would mention that I am drinking a bottle at the moment.

Getting older is so scary...I hope that my dashing good looks stay with me forever. (lol) I mean, my family is blessed with youthfulness in their looks - so I hope that I keep that quality as well. aks: DRINK LOTS OF WATER...(a helpful not overboard amount).

Off to the park

It is Saturday afternoon and I am sitting here figuring out whether I should head to the gym or head over to riverside park and go running - decisions, decisions. I have decided the latter...heading to the gym is such a chore...and I would rather not involve myself with chores today. I have already cleaned my apartment and my room...(as if one doesn't involve the other..hahaha) and well, need to get some physical action today. So off to the park.
